Chapter 51: Part 3: Chapter 51: A different kind of rescue

Curt walked out AS if the building was on fire. He saluted soldiers, but his mind was with the newly appointed head nurse. He had to forget the butterflies. The promises. All that was said and done. It could never be, he chastised himself.

"Thank you for her safe return, Lord. Thanks for your guidance. Without you this mission was impossible. I praise your name."

Doug met him on the return to the office. "How's the captain, Sir?" he asked just as they stepped into the office.

"She looks better. Jourdain said she is weak but responsive to the prescribed medicine."

"Did she accept the position, Sir?"

"Yes, she starts on Monday," he answered whilst opening a file on his desk.
