Standing in the oppressive silence of the forest, Anna felt the weight of her decision.It had been her choice to come alone.

The shock of seeing him rooted her to the spot at first, unable to move. As the reality sank in, she acted instinctively, launching the first attack with a swift punch.

The man sidestepped her attack, seizing her hand and pulling her closer. His employer had made it clear there was no room for error, and he knew the warning was not idle.

He smirked widely, his gloved hands resting lightly on the hilt of his rapier. "I didn't think you'd be foolish enough to come. Alone, no less. I underestimated your... dedication."

"You are a fool," Anna shot back, her voice steady despite the chill in her veins. "If you think I will leave here without answers, you are sorely mistaken."

His laugh was low, almost a growl, as he pulled Anna closer. "Bold words. Let's see if you can back them up. You will be lucky if you left here alive."
