They will open a portal for humans who are afraid and feel their world is meaningless, 'their' job is to trap and make after successfully getting a human target, then the human will be used as food after thousands of years of starvation.
They watch you from behind the glass. Smiling big when they managed to trick you when they managed to show their true figure, they were happy because they saw the feeling of fear that emerged from you.
