Chapter 29: Batshit crazy Fang
Lin expected to find Fang. But not like this.
"...and with a burst of speed I escaped certain death."
Fang laughed as he chugged a big glass of wine.
"Another!" Fang shouted.
All around him people are shouting in admiration.
Lin looked at him dumbfounded.
'Doesn't he realise that he offended Star Zhi and Three Chariot Sect?'
Lin was unable to offer any form of logical explanation for Fang's behaviour. And the only explanation that came into mind was,
'He went crazy.'
Lin couldn't feel any amount of Qi inside him. So he did lose his cultivation progress alright. But not this Cultivation Base.
Lin made his way through the crowd and pulled on Fang.
"Ah! Brother Lin! Come and tell them how we fight a great evil in the distorted realm."
Fang tried to pull Lin but no matter how much he tried he couldn't pull Lin to him so he gave up.
Lin pulled him to the side and asked,
"Is this a joke to you? Three Chariot Sect and Star Zhi are looking for you. Instead of hiding why are you boasting? If they find you..."
*AAAAAHHHHHHHHH*
Before Lin could finish his sentence a roar could be heard as a massive ball of fire headed toward the shop.
The ball fire stopped mid-air as an old man emerged from it.
"Junior, leave your life here!"
Star Zhi shouted as he pointed his sword at Fang.
Everyone but Lin moved away from his side.
[New Mission: As a person who will dominate this universe do not be dominated by him. Either from his word or action.
Reward: Shield of Protection. Something that can nullify any attack when activated. Can block two attacks before it needs one week to recharge.
Penalty: Unbale to comply would result in the Host's baby-making device exploding.]
Fang felt his entire body freeze as he read the penalty.
He felt like crying.
"Who do you think you are to demand my life?"
Lin looked at Fang with wide eyes.
Lin could beat Star Zhi. If he managed to gain his old powers. But as he is right now it is impossible to defeat this monster.
'Why are you so eager to die?' Lin thought as he glanced at Fang.
"Who am I?" Star Zhi had the veins on his face pulsing.
'Did he really say that to Star Zhi?'
'God Damm. He not only crippled his Grandson now he is humiliating him in front of everyone.'
'Does the juniors nowadays this much arrogant?'
'I will drink wine in your bravery, junior.'
Muttering could be heard from the crowd.
Star Zhi let his aura explode and crush down on Fang.
A few people around him also felt it but they moved back. Lin also felt it. His body stiffened but soon returned to normal as he felt that chaotic energy revolves inside of him.
Fang could feel it the most. The ground around him shattered but he stayed upright.
The System nullified all the Aura.
Fang had no choice. Until the mission is complete he must court death.
"What is this? Is this supposed to scare me?"
Star Zhi looked at him with blank eyes. Most of them looked at Star Zhi with blank eyes.
'Did I miss him?' Looking nonchalantly at Fang and Lin beside him, Star Zhi doubted whether or not he used his aura successfully.
'Boss, you're an expert?'
'So young yet so strong to be able to withstand the aura of a Star Core expert.'
'Don't miss the boy beside him. He too withstood it.'
'I will drink in your bravery again, junior.'
Star Zhi used his Qi this time. It was much more fierce and much more violent.
Fang yawned and Lin looked at Fang with an astonished gaze.
'What kind of arrogance is this?' Lin asked himself.
'Or he is ignorant of death?' Lin corrected himself.
He concluded that Fang was so unafraid of death that he could be arrogant or he is just batshit crazy
'Definitely the second one.'
Lin finished his assessment.
Star Zhi was lost for words. He couldn't feel anything from Fang. There were no Qi fluctuations nor any kind of artefacts on him.
'He is just a normal human. So why?'
Star Zhi felt like going mad.
'So why my aura doesn't crush him like an ant."
Fang suddenly thought of something.
"Since you want me dead, I'll give you one chance. Hit me with all your might. See if you can defeat me."
Fang proclaimed proudly.
'Yep! He went crazy. It's hopeless. I should get out of here.' Lin was about to move away when Fang held him and said,
"My friend Lin here thinks the same. You ain't shit old frog."
'You bastard!' Lin silently cursed at Fang.
Star Zhi looked at both Fang and Lin with a burning gaze.
'What gall. I wish had a friend like that.'
'I want to worship both of your ancestors.'
'I will drink two glasses of wine in your bravery, juniors.'
'Just drink your wine silently why do you have to shout every time?'
"Hahahahahahahah"
Star Zhi covered his face and laughed out loud. It wasn't a funny laugh.
It was a menacing laugh.
"Good. Very Good. I, Star Zhi, in all these years of cultivation have never seen someone like you."
The entire atmosphere changed. Lin knew what this was.
"It is natural you didn't. After all, a frog in a well like you could only see the walls that surround you."
Everyone took a sharp breath. Star Zhi trembled lightly.
"You!..."
"Just hurry up already. I don't have all day. Taking with you is already giving you too much face."
Lin could feel Fang's grip on him become tighter. His face was full of smiles and mockery.
[Mission Complete]
Fang sighed in relief. It seemed his gamble paid off. Either he died painlessly or he completed the mission. There is no other option.
Star Zhi's skin became red from fury.
All people around them already evacuated and prayed for Fang. They all will remember this foolish yet brave lad.
Lin was ready to draw his sword at any moment. He didn't know why but he had weird confidence in his sword.
With a loud boom, Star Zhi disappeared from the spot.
The shockwave pushed people off and most of them fell on their butts.
Dust was everywhere. Many people coughed and cleaned themselves off the dust.
They expected to see a spatter of blood. Yet what they saw as the dust settled broke their mind.
Fang stood with a poker face as Star Zhi's fist was a few inches away from his face.
No matter what he couldn't move forward.
But that was not the end.
*slap*
Fang slapped Star Zhi in the face.
"How dare you talk big while you have the strength to prove it?"
*Slap*
A second slap.
Star Zhi looked at him blankly.
People looked at him blankly.
With a broken nose, a wine glass fell from someone's hand as they stared at the scene in front of them.
*Crack*
An inaudible cracking sound. Star Zhi stood up as he stared down at Fang.
"It was a pathetic attempt. How about this? I will give you another chance."
Fang extended his both ways and said with a smile,
"Come and show me what you got."
Star Zhi was unable to explain what happened. He knew this was some form of illusion.
He again went back. This time he won't fail. This time he will not fail to kill this ingrate.
His eyes bleed from anger as he takes out his signature weapon. A sabre with a red tip.
A small streak of blood came out of his body and enveloped his entire sabre crimson red
Lin of course knew about this attack.
"Be careful. It can directly impact the soul."
Fang nodded and focused on Star Zhi.
As Star Zhi moved all everyone could see was a thing red line.
*bang*
And just like before it stopped a few inches away from him.
*crack*
Lin heard that crack noise again. He watched as Star Zhi vomited a mouth full of blood. Fang's face was still blank and without any reaction.
Star Zhi lowered his weapon and cupped Fang and walked off.
Blood flowed like a river as he walked away silently.
In this silent Fang stood with a blank gaze.
Lin exhaled in relief he went there and put his hand on Fang whose body immediately went limp.
Lin was scared as he used his Qi to check Fang. He sighed in relief.
Fang was unconscious.
[Mission Successful.]

But Fang unfortunately was too unconscious to notice anything.
