After killing all those monsters around me, I kept descending to the fourth floor while observing the changes in the dungeon.

This time, I am trying to understand the weird behavior of the dungeon last time since it was pretty abnormal for it to keep spawning monsters without giving me any time.

It felt like the only person was me on that floor, and the dungeon was targeting only me, which is clearly impossible since this is just the fourth floor, and there is no way for it to be empty, even at night.

So, there must be something else affecting the behavior of the dungeon, and I must understand that if I want to dive deeper from this point.

Certainly not every time, someone like Ais Wallenstein can save me, and if I put myself in such a dangerous situation again, that means it is my fault.

And I don't like repeating my mistakes.

Making mistakes is okay, but repeating them…

It is not.

Anyway, miss dungeon today seems calm; she doesn't keep spawning monsters this time. But that doesn't mean she will leave me alone for a long time; of course, she won't.

When did she do something like that?

Right now, there are eight monsters in front of me, and without waiting too much, I started walking toward them.

/SWOOSH/

I dodged the attack of the goblin.

/SPLASH/

Severed its head.

/THUD/

I kicked the nearby attacker and finished it with my floating dagger.

/SPLURT/

/SWOOSH/

Slashed another one, and another one, and another one.

Without stopping, I killed all of them without getting hit even once.

I really think I can reach the fifth floor if it goes like that.

It seems miss dungeon won't give us any challenge, at least for this floor anymore.

With that, I started picking up the magic stones of the monsters I killed, and it took almost the same time as the fight…

After collecting the magic stones, I kept descending to the fourth floor and killed all the monsters I encountered.

But, since this time, the monsters were pretty normal, and their numbers weren't too big or something, it didn't take too much energy from me to fight with them.

And even by only using my magic, I think I can at least kill one group without getting injured too much.

But, since it won't be too efficient, and my mind reserves also won't last for too long, I didn't do it and just used my magic while using my swords at the same time.

After that, I killed another group of eight monsters, another eight, and another.

This went just like that, and in the end, I think I killed four groups of eight before reaching the staircase to the fifth floor.

Normally speaking, I think I can take on the monsters from the fifth floor and others right now, but I won't do it since I wasted quite an amount of mind training my magic.

And, since I didn't fight with my most optimal style, I think it would be better for me not to step into the fifth floor.

With those thoughts in my mind, I decided not to go deeper and kept killing monsters on the fourth floor.

And with that, I slowly started retreating as well since I was getting pretty much tired.

However, in the dungeon, you can't simply return to the surface just by walking.

No, there is no such thing.

The dungeon won't leave you alone, no matter which direction you are heading; you can go to the surface, or you can go to deeper floors. It doesn't matter.

And, since the dungeon didn't leave me alone, it was pretty much me killing monsters at that time.

Even though I was getting tired, the monsters on this floor couldn't threaten me too much anymore.

/THUD/ /THUD/ /THUD/

And just like that, I killed today's 8th group on the fourth floor.

Just at this time, I heard some sounds coming.

/CLAP/ /CLAP/ /CLAP/

With the sounds of clapping, three adventurers suddenly appeared in front of me.

"Wow, you are pretty good yourself, ain't ya?"

The one on the front asked while grinning evilly.

It seems like direct confrontation is not unavoidable anymore.

"Hey, Gis. You seem to enjoy yourself, huh? Let's not waste too much time here anymore."

Another one said, but this one had a strained expression on his face.

"Marco, why are you this stiff, brother? There is no one around here; didn't we check it already?"

They kept blabbering like that, and it seemed like they were pretty sure I won't be able to leave this place.

Well, it is a pretty common thing in the dungeon, so I am not surprised about that.

However, the thing I am surprised about is how can these weak guys think they can beat me.

These guys are actually the ones who followed me yesterday, and they were following me today too.

That was one of the reasons why I didn't use my full strength while fighting with monsters and decided to keep my magic secret from the eyes of these guys since I would use it as a trump card.

Yes, they were following me, but not all the time.

They noticed me when I reached the fourth floor, and I noticed them as well.

However, the first one to notice was me, and I observed their fighting for quite a bit of time.

They were fighting with monsters, and even though they were a party of three, they were having a hard time just killing 10 monsters.

And, neither their techniques nor their strength is good either.

I think they have, at most, 100 in two of their stats, and any other stats won't pass the 100 mark.

And some of you may say you could just avoid them; why did you make them tail you?

Well, the reason I did that was that I heard Iris' voice inside my head just at that moment.

<Quest, {Kill those who wanted to kill you} generated.>

<Host, you can check the quest in your tab, or do you prefer me to explain you?>

Iris said.

'Explain the details.'

I simply said, and Iris started explaining the details.

<Host, just like you predicted, these guys were the ones that followed you yesterday, and they didn't have good intentions. Two of them even had a killing intent turned towards you. So, the quest is just simple as the name indicates. You need to kill those who want to kill you. That's it. And as a reward, you will gain 15 percent of level-up exp.>

Iris explained the details of the quest to me.

It seems the system is not really forgiving.

Well, just like I said yesterday, the moment they directed their malicious intent at me, they were already dead.

I feel like quests are related to my feelings and my desires.

Anyway, that was pretty much the reason why I decided to reveal myself to those guys, but of course, I didn't do that without analyzing their fighting style and devising a plan to deal with them.

Although I can fight with them with my current strength, it is still always better to prepare for something unpredictable.

"Hey, Reiner. This kid is pretty much shitting himself, ain't him?"
