Write a reviewReview for 115 chapters: MC is now a proper late stage cultivator(Qi 7). He has also killed a grade 2 snake demon (roughly equal to Foundation Establishment lvl) back when he was at Qi 6. Although his grade 2 sword helped, and the terrain restricted the demon, it’s still quite the accomplishment. At least now he is more or less unbeatable within the Qi Cultivation stage. Also, he has moved to the main cultivation city under the sect (quite literally under it, it is at the foot of the mountain where the sect is at the peak, hidden in the clouds). He has settled down with his friends and subordinates. Costs are higher and the selling price of talismans is much lower. However, has acquired the skill for making the Amulet Talisman (Qi 7, basic talismans book). That has a better sale price, although still not quite as ridiculous as back in the village. Positives : The city is a Grade 1 cultivation land, perfect for Qi Cultivation. Also the large population means that there’s no beasts around. Also, he can fly under the radar even more since there’s like over 100,000 people there. Also there’s a bunch of books/techniques regarding the cultivation world that can be bought easily.
A 2021 story but it was dropped now it has been picked up but updates are inconsistent and only 225 chapters
This is a nice steady story, with good character development. There is a system, but there isn’t a lot of deus ex machina, so his increases in strength and abilities seems very organic and logical! Not boring!
very different from your usual cultivation study. The mc has a system that doesn't make him completely broken. Truly it's a dream come true. Great mc with okay world development and good plot, though I particularly enjoy the steady pacing which is uncharismatic of other novels which often have an exiting arc followed by a slump and vice-versa. This novel hasn't bored me 130 chapters in once. Maybe it's cause of that tension created by the fact his system isn't an answer to everything all it does it help him learn a spell faster.
Review for 166 chapters: MC broke through to Qi lvl 8 after moving to the city. Then he killed a couple of important people that indirectly led to another war. Longevity sect fell, and MC reached Qi lvl 9. The new sect was one of the three that attacked Longevity sect earlier. MC saved the last few memebers of the Yu family during the chaos. The Returning True sect (new ruler) also applied 3 months forced labour, for clearing the surrounding forests for land development. After that, MC broke through to Foundation Establishment. He joined the Returning True sect as a Guest Elder. He has to obey them for 20 years, with the first two years exempt. In exchange, he gets a Foundation Establishment cultivation technique, a rank 3 cave abode & one bottle of cultivation pills per month for free, as well as 50 mid-grade spirit stones as a salary(he will be paid properly for various tasks as well). He aslo gets a low grade 2 robe, one top grade spirit stone, & ten bottle of cultivation pills as a welcome gift. Also, he is exempt from working for the first two years, and he can buy techniques at or below his level, but he has to make a Dao Oath to never reveal any of them, including the cultivation technique. So far, he has chosen a relatively secluded spot for his cave abode. He can bring five servants/attendants/family members with him. Currently, he has brought his wife and the daughter of the neighbor who helped him learn the basics of talismans. His wife is thinking of setting them up together, since she would be too ashamed to share a bed with him once she start shows signs of aging. After all, his lifespan is 268 years according to the system, and generally everyone at Foundation Establishment can live for about 200 years or more. He currently looks like he is in his early 20’s, and she is already 32. Oh, and he chose to continue with the Longevity technique (for familiarity & lifespan). He got two more spells, Demon-Expelling (Qi 9) & Penetrative Vision (FE 1). He’s focusing on maxxing out his current skills instead of learning many new ones.

Review for the first 64 chapters: It’s alright. There’s very little of the typical cultivation tropes. No face slapping, nobody is out to get the MC straight away. He transmigrated into the body of a 40-year old early Qi cultivation man. He has a system, however there are no missions or exchanges with it. It just tells him about his status, and every time he successfully uses a skill/spell, it increases the experience by one. Same for cultivation realms. So far he’s reached the middle of 5th Qi cultivation. No greatness, just a poor guy trying to survive in the cultivation world. Hopefully the realm upgrades get a little faster, his combat capabilities are already equal to 7th to 8th Qi cultivation. That’s thanks to his grinding skills over several months.
