Chapter 2: Volume I: First Year Chapter 2: Practice and Graduation
It's been six months since I got reincarnated in this world. I've been doing some research to make sure that I'm in the Haikyuu world only, and not a mix of different manga. While doing so, I found out that the Totuski Culinary School from Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma Manga series. That's settled my search, now I'm sure that I may see other characters from the manga I have read, but I'm not going to interfere in their life, I will just live my second life to the fullest while doing something I like.
Because I figured that there might be more manga mixed in this world, I just started to practice volleyball with Kōtarō, with more enthusiasm than before. All this time, I've been an athlete, so I've only practiced with him before, but that was all done half heartedly too, but now the things are different. In high school I've decided to join the volleyball club, but haven't decided in which high school. But that I only need to worry about that after I'm done with middle school, so I decided to get some basics set in volleyball, because of that I requeste the volleyball club coach in our middle school.
Even though I was not in the team, after talking with the coach for a month I was able to stay and practice with the volleyball team. And I started as a blocker for their training, the first month was moderately tough as it was the first time playing with a team. Because, until the start of practice with the school club, I only played with Kōtarō and
that too just bumping the ball nothing more.
But after that month I was like fish in the water. After I got some experience in being a blocker, I started to move on to the other positions, even libero. And after playing for five months with them, I was an all rounder in the court. The first thing the coach asked me was that where I was for the past years, I just smiled at him and gave some vague answers and left to home.
As we were walking back to home, Kōtarō was silent all they way. I knew that he was thinking so I didn't disturb him. My brother,is slightly different from the manga, I don't know if it's because we were born twins, but he haven't gotten any kind of disease or he doesn't get exhausted while doing the warm ups and practice. I thought about it a lot and came to a conclusion that, my first and fourth wish have also been affected to him since we were born twins. Because of that, he got more into analysing things, but he still retains his goofy personality.
As we reached home, we went to the backyard to play with the volleyball. Even when we were playing, he was silent. But after he missed the ball to bump, ha spoke to me.
"Hōtarō, why were you so eger to practice for the past five months? Whenever I called you before you just say that you're not interested. So what changed?"
Looking at him I just said "Nothing, I'm just doing it for the fun of it."
"Then will you play with me in High School?" He asked with lots of expectations.
"Should I?" I asked him.
"Huh? You won't?"
"I mean it would be cool to fight against you."
"What are you saying? I don't understand."
"I'm saying that, I will joining the High School Volleyball team. Just, that I won't be in the same school with you."
"What??!!!" Surprised he raised his voice.
"Don't scream you idiot." I berated him.
"I mean come on, I don't know which position you will play but if we're in the same team then we can can get some cool nicknames you know."
"That's a good point. But I don't wanna."
"Aw.... " And he became down.
Looking at him I smiled, this future simpleton ace is just funny to watch at some times. Taking a breath I spoke "Look Kōtarō, I will think about going to the same school, okay."
"Yes!" His mood changed pretty quickly.
"Kid's. It's time for dinner."
As mom called us for dinner we went back inside the house and ate. After that was done we started to play video games with Kimiko-nee. Even though she give off the aura of a book worm, she's a total weeb. Because of that we three play games together all the time, and Kōtarō always loses as me and Kimiko-nee team up to beat him.
Then month later it was finals of middle school, well that was a breeze for both of us and we graduated from Ushimi Middle School with the top two position. Next is high school.
