Chapter 1: CHAPTER 1: THE ARRIVAL TO THE NEW HOUSE.
Melissa is an 8-year-old girl who moved into a house in a town called "Little Hope" with her parents Edward Henderson and Sofia Henderson.
When they arrived at the house, Melissa began to explore and her appearance showed an expression of happiness and pleasure. Her parents were happy, seeing the look of satisfaction of the girl on her face.
The town is quiet and the house is spacious, bright and clean, although its architecture is very colonial, in general terms you can breathe fresh air and with a lot of smell of damp earth, because the climate is cold and it rains very frequently. . Melissa's parents immediately realized that the little girl felt very good in her new home.
At dinner time, Sofia and Edward comment that their daughter's expression of satisfaction discards any doubts regarding the purchase of the house, since the townspeople say that the house is haunted.
Many years ago at the beginning of the last century, a family lived in the house that died, due to an epidemic that occurred in the town.
Local people say that the family consisted of the mother, the father and their two children. They also say that each member of the family suffered greatly from the disease and as a result, the parents of the creatures died together with their two children. Since then, the spirits visit the house, as they still consider it home.
There are people in the town who claim that they have seen two children (male and female) leave the house in the company of their parents and when they go to talk to them they disappear.
Edward and Sofia never believed in those things, so they did not give it importance and due to the strong commitment that Edward and Sofia had with their work, they left little Melissa with Chloe, a maid who was always at the service of the newly arrived family.
Chloe never had complaints about Melissa's behavior, as she kept quiet playing in her room most of the day. Melissa and Chloe usually talk at breakfast and lunch hours.
Chloe observed that Melissa developed her stories with a lot of imagination and creativity, so much so that they spend several hours talking about the things that her two friends and her were doing.
Chloe considers that Melissa's stories are due to a simple imagination that is commonly observed in the stage of growth in which the little girl is, since it also happened on previous occasions, with other children that she had to take care of.
Like any normal day, Chloe gets ready to go on her way to the Henderson family house, leaving her house she realizes that her neighbor had a sale of antique objects set up and without thinking twice she decided to go take a look in case she found something that might interest you.
The neighbor named Marta is a widow and very kind to all the neighbors. When Marta sees Mrs. Chloe arrive, she greets her by giving her a big hug.
Chloe, passionate about reading, goes straight to the book area, among all the copies stood out one that had the appearance of a bible; it had no title, only a giant magnifying glass, drawn on its cover that seemed to be made of leather.
