While the person inside was busy as a beehive, those outside merely stood there quietly watching, neither interrupting nor showing any intention of leaving.

After who knows how long of standing by his side, the old man, as straight as a pine tree by the door, finally withdrew his gaze. Leaning on his cane, he spoke in a faded voice, "Let's go."
