Chapter 15: Chapter Fourteen
The crew grabbed the gear before heading out of Mike's basement door.
They were headed to the pool. Not to swim, but to fix Billy. They'd come up with a plan to lock Billy into the sauna to burn it out of him the way they'd done Will.
Hopefully it would work.
Lila held onto Dustin as he biked towards the pool, laying her head on his back. She was tired. She'd been crying since they left Heather's. She'd never felt pain like this.
"We are going to fix him." Dustin said softly.
"I hope." Lila nodded.
They arrived at the pool. After setting up the trap, the crew set Lila off to find Billy. He should be going on his break right about now.
Lila spotted Billy still sitting on the lifeguard stand in a long sleeve shirt with a towel across his knees. She gulped before making her way to him.
"Baby." She called out.
Billy looked down at her, smiling. "Hi, baby."
"Whens break?" She questioned.
"Now if you want it to be." He smirked.
"Yes." She nodded eagerly. She was ready to have her Billy back.
He climbed down from the lifeguard stand following after Lila. She grabbed his hand pulling him along as she sprinted towards the showers.
Lika giggled as they entered. She pulled him in for a kiss which he eagerly accepted. Billy pressed her against the wall, moving his kiss to her neck.
"More private." Lila said pushing him away. She motioned for him to follow her and he did like a lost puppy.
The kids were hidden in the hallway so they couldn't be seen. Lila gulped as they reached the sauna. They both entered and Billy pulled her in for a kiss once more.
"Oh, wait!" Lila exclaimed as if she forgot something. She walked out of the sauna, closing her eyes before shutting door. The kids barged in, locking the sauna and cutting the heat up to the highest setting.
"Lila!" Billy shouted looking through the window. "What the fuck!"
"I'm sorry." Lila frowned, tears brimming her eyes.
"Come on, baby, let me out." He pleaded.
"Don't listen to him." Mike snapped looking over at her.
The hotter the sauna got the more Billy lashed out. Lila winced at his yelling.
The heat was now at it's hottest and Billy began to become tired. Lila watched as his body collapsed to the ground. The kids peered through the window watching him flail around on the floor.
His veins were turning black as the monster realized his body wasn't pliable anymore. It was trying to find it's way out.
Billy suddenly sat up off the floor letting out the most gut renching scream any of them had ever heard. The black swarm flew from his mouth and into the air vent above his head.
"Billy!" Lila and Max cried at the same time.
"Let him out!" Max shouted.
"We need to make sure he's gone!" Lucas shouted back.
Lila peered at Billy's lifeless body. Tears streamed from her eyes. He looked horrible.
"It's gone." Will replied rubbing his neck. "Get him out."
The kids fumbled around with the lock before it finally fell to the ground. They rushed in, dragging Billy from the sauna.
Lila collasped beside him, holding him across her legs. She brushed his hair from his face and placed her hand on his cheek.
"Billy, wake up." She cried.
Billy didn't move. He laid there lifeless, barely hanging on.
"Is he breathing?" Mike asked. Max kneeled down to check his pulse. It was very much there which confused her as to why he wasn't waking up.
"He's alive. Maybe he's just exhausted?" Max asked stepping away from him.
"He's tired." Eleven nodded. "Need to get him home."
"How do you suggest we do that?" Lucas asked.
"His car is here." Max replied. "I can find his keys."
"Who's driving?" Lucas asked.
"Me, obviously." Max rolled her eyes. "Be right back."
In the mean time, Lila attempted to heal Billy. It worked, for the most part. His color came back to his face and he started to move a tiny bit.
He was still tired and now, so was Lila. She held onto his hand and the boys lifted him up and carried him out of showers. Max was sitting in his front seat, shouting for them to hurry up.
The boys placed Billy in the backseat. Lila climbed in behind him, laying his head in her last. She kept her hand on his cheek the whole car ride to Billy's house.
"This has gotten easier since I've grown!" Max laughed as she turned onto her road. Lila giggled along before looking down at Billy.
His eyes were now fluttering open. He squinted up at Lila instantly relaxing under her gaze. He let out a sigh before placing his hand over hers.
"Billy." Lila whispered looking down at him.
"Hi, babydoll." He mumbled.
"Are you okay?" She asked.
"I think so." He nodded slightly. "I'm tired."
"Can you walk inside?" Max asked glancing over her shoulder as she pulled into the driveway.
"I know Max isn't driving my car right now." He snarled attempting to sit up.
"I just saved your life, asshole." Max scoffed. "Plus, I drove pretty good."
"Whatever." He sighed. "Yes I can walk inside."
The car came to a halt. Max got out and opened the passenger door. Lila climbed out the backseat before holding her hand out for Billy to grab.
Once he was out of the car, he draped his arms around Max and Lila letting most of his weight fall on the two of them.
They made it inside to Billy's room where he collapsed onto the bed. Lila sat on the edge, untying her converse.
"You got it from here?" Max questioned. Lila nodded before kicking her shoes off.
"Great. I'm going to find the others." Max grinned.
"Don't be late, Max!" Billy shouted just before the front door shut.
Billy was laying on his back, sideways across his bed. Lila stood up and made her way towards his dresser. She dug around finiding a pair of gym short and t-shirt.
"You need to take a cold shower." She said lunging the clothes at him.
"Only if you join me." He mumbled grabbing the clothes.
"No." Lila rolled her eyes. "Go, Billy."
"Fine." He huffed as he sat up.
Lila dug around in his dresser once more, finding some clothes for herself. She changed from sweaty jeans and shirt into a pair of Billy's sweats and a t-shirt. She climbed into his bed, under the covers and waited for him to come back.
He appeared sometime later in the clothes she given him. He combed through his wet hair before crawling in beside her.
"Sure, help yourself to my clothes." Billy laughed motioning towards her outfit.
"I was sweaty." Lila replied.
"That's why we should've showered." He said before pulling her into him.
"Are you Billy now?" She asked looking up at him.
"Yes, babydoll." He nodded.
"I'm Billy now."
