Chapter 5: The Evil Deskmate
There were two beautiful fountains on either side of the entrance. The crystal clear water flowing through those fountains had systamized in a rhythamical pattern. It helps to calm down my agitated mind. Also there were beautiful cherry trees full of flowers on both sides of the road.
As I walk further, I saw a large garden. At the middle of it there was a huge architectural designed pond. The pond was walled up like a series of stairs. There were so many types of kids out there. Some are laughing and chatting with their friends ,Some study ,Some listen music or read books lonely .' This must be college freedom ' I thought. In meantime, all of a sudden I heard a sound of an announcement.
"New comers please come to Hall No.2"
"Ahhh....Hall No.2, where is it??" I questioned my self.
"Excuse me, how can I find Hall No.2?" I asked from a senior .
"Oh yes , go straight ahead and turn slightly to the left, there is an upstair building ,that is it." She answered with a warm smile .
"Gamsa-hamnida!" I bowed my head and thanked her. As she said, I ran ,and as soon as I turned left accidently I hit on someone .I looked quickly to apologize .
He was wearing a dark coloured cap and his face is fully covered by a mask. Only his eyes were visible clearly .
'What an odd fashion for a college, he seems like a criminal investigator in a Kdrama 'I thought.
"Aish..... why are you running like an idiot?" He asked by raising his eyebow in a aggressive way.
'Why.. why he is over acting, it's not a big deal' my temper also raised up. 'But this is the first day ,so I don't want to ruin this special day because of an idiot' I calm down .
"Actually I'm sooo.... sorry" finally I apologized .
"Hmm..... whatever" he left with a cold response."Ahhh.... that jerk, he is too much". I muttered to my self and again ran for the Hall.
As soon as I got there, "Kim Ji yoo....NO.275" .I heard my name, So I checked my admission number.
"Yes sir, that's me" I raised my hand and said.
"Okay, then come with me" he invites me.
"Please wait ,until your turn." after saying that he went out again.
Inside of the waiting room reminded me a luxury apartment .It also designed in a uncommon artistic manner. There were soo many glowing lamps ,those are like crystal diamonds .And large sized shiny glass statues were everywhere .When I looked down, my face was clearly visible on the floor .It's clear as a mirror .
'What a wonderful place !' I thought.
"Hey ...Are you a new comer too?" The girl next to me asked with a sweet smile.
"Yeh" I smile back.
"Oh ....I'm Fang Li from China.You look like as a Korean ,Am I right??" She asked.
"Yeh I'm a Korean .My name is Ji yoo.By the way you speak korean fluently. It's amazing ."
"Ahhh.... thanks.My mom from Korea,So she taught me korean very well."
"Oh I see .... thats great."
After little silence she turn again to my side .
" I 'm soo nervous, as I transfer here alone. I haven't any Korean friends .So Can we be friends ?" She looked at me with cute puppy eyes.
"Oh sure.Me too haven't any friends here. And I also far away from seoul. So it's a pleasure to me." I said with a little smile.
"Really? Then let's wish to be in a same class" again she smiles. Her chubby face make her more cuter when she smiles. And her brownish black hair tighted as a ponytail .It swinging in a beat as she talks. Her average height also suit her personality perfectly. Because of her sincerely smile , I thought she will be a good friend for me.
"Yes ... let's hope so " I nodded .At that time I heard someone is calling for me.
"Kim Ji yoo...No.275...No.275??"
"Yes " I stand up and raised my arm. "Oh come in" a lady called me.
"Hey.. Good luck Ji yoo... do your best!" Fang Li Cheered me. I smiled to her and walk in. There were three teachers like a panel of judges .It seems that they were questioning the new students.
"Wait a minute and go ahead when they call your number. "The lady whispered to me.
Finally my turn came.
"So ,you're hoping to study computer science , Am I correct ?"The teacher with a serious face looked at my admission and asked." Yes, ma'am " I answered nervously .
"So how was your high school results?" again she asked. "I haven't receive it yet ma'am" I said in fear.
"How about your additional qualifications? "the next gentlemen questioned me. I was speechless .I'm not sporty and also I'm a person with very few extra capabilities .So, I was disappointed at that moment ."I...I..." I stumbled to answer .
"Mmm....so what about your middle school final exam? "again he asked.
"I studied in English medium and got 'A grades for all of my subjects ." I replied confidently this time.
"Wow....that's great. "The silent master at the corner of the table said enthusiastically. I thought he must been like me, at his school time also.
"English medium !! It's very important when learning in a field like this " the serious faced teacher also appreciates me.
"Yes, Good luck for your high school results too" the silent Sir wished me gladly.
"So from now you're a student in Yenghuwa , Congrats!!!" They welcome me.
"Oh thank you very much " I said with a satisfied smile.
"And your class is E- 1st, this ma'am will take you there" one of them told to me. "Okay come with me" the pleasant lady who I met before ,again appeared and said.
I bowed at the panel and follow her. When we came out. I saw Fang Li was there. "Hey my friend , how was it" she asked curiously .
"Oh it went well, I 'm in E-1st class now "I said happily.
"Wow...really, Congrats !! I wish to be in E-1st class too." She replied .
"Me too hope so, Good luck for you too." I shake her hand.
"Mmm... excuse me. Can we go now?" The lady stared at us and asked.
"Oh sorry, I forget it. You should go now. I'll meet you at the class room. "Fang li replied .
"Okay....See you" again I started to follow the lady.
After little time she stoped infront of a cabin rack and pointed at a cabin ."This is your cabin, and keep this safe. Because all of your important assigments will store here. So maintain your privacy documents more protectively" and she handed me the cabin key.
"And that is the E-1st class, now you can join there .If you have any doubt ask from your homeroom teacher Miss Park" After saying that ,the pleasent lady bowed at me and left.
I walk further and stop at the entrance of E-1st class. A lovely lady is addressing the class. She must be Miss Park. I knocked at the door "Excuse me, Can I come in?"
"Oh yes....another companion , Come in my child, Come in" she replied Gently.mI walked forward shyly and looked at the class. There were various kind of girls and boys. All of their eyes were directed on me. "So ,Can you introduce yourself please" Miss Park asked on me.
"Annyeong haseyo...." I introduce myself to the class.
"So welcome to Yenghuwa academic school dear!
Now you can sit at anywhere you like. "Miss Park's voice is soo soft at that time. I nodded my head and search for a seat. Actually this is new for me .Earlier I was studied in a girls school. But this is a mix college. I hesitated to sit near a boy. So I looked around carefully .
By chance I saw two empty chairs next to the corner window .So I quickly went there and sit down.
"Ok children ,from now on you can't change your seats until the next semester ." Miss park announced. Then someone suddenly came to the class. "Oh ...I'm sorry ma'am I was late because I went to the wrong class" his words tingle with hurry.
That voice is little bit familiar ,So I looked up. That was the cold hearted idiot who I met in that morning. Still he is wearing the cap and mask. "What a jerk , he hasn't any behavior " I thought.
"Oh Lee... take a sit quickly. I was waiting for you. "Teachers words surprised me. 'Ahh.. this annoying guy stole our Miss Parks' affection on first day ,What a miracle !!'I thought doubtfully.
He looked at the class and came towards me. Oh nooo.... is this punk going to sit next to me??
Ahhh....Why's that!!! Is this cold hearted jerk want to be my deskmate for rest of the semester ? Oh god he will ruin up my first semester in ridiculous way. What will I do??
He pulled up the chair near me and leaned back in it. I looked at him with restless mind. He make a gesture through his eyes. I could only see his eyes, but I knew it was a sarcastic smirk....
