Chapter 39: THE BODYGUARD

"WHY DO I need a bodyguard, Appa?"

"Because your grandparents are not good people," Nikolai said bluntly. "They threatened your mother already. I wouldn't be surprised if she'd do something to harm you. Hence, I want you to choose your bodyguard."

It was the first time that he summoned Neoma to the study– aka his personal office in their new mansion.

He put the resumes of the applicants on the table and showed them to her daughter.

"Am I the only one getting a bodyguard?" Neoma asked, confused. "How about Nero? Does he already have his own bodyguard?"

"You can say that," he said, nodding. "Nero has found his people already."

"Okay, Appa," his daughter said, then she scanned the application papers on the table. "All of these potential bodyguards are around my age?"
