"57 bottles of milk on the wall, 57 bottles of milk, open one up, drink it down, 56 bottles of milk on wall!" sung Josie. It had been only one day since they'd set off but there were already signs of the war showing. Planets were now small pieces of rock floating around aimlessly and others that were still intact were completely covered with camps filled with refugees or people fighting. Disguising the ships signal, they were able to pass by without being targeted and attacked.
"So, what is our plan then? I mean, we can't exactly walk up to them and shoot them so how are we going to go about it?" asked James. He had been laying on the back seats trying to solve a rubix cube but had had the question distracting him. Josie flicked a switch and spun around to face James.
"Easy, we sneak into their ship, destroy the weapon, get out, and then celebrate." Josie said confidently but doubt soon grew in her. Suddenly a red light started to flash violently and Josie spun round so fast she nearly fell out of the chair.
"Oh come on! Not now!" panicked Josie.
"What! What's going on?!" asked James, throwing the toy behind him and running up behind Josie.
"Three darkness patrol ships just appeared out of nowhere!"
"What are they going to-" James was cut off by an explosion that shook the whole ship and threw James to the ground.
"That! They're going to shoot us down! We need to make an emergency landing!" shouted Josie and she flicked more switches and grabbed the controls. She turned the ship towards a small moon.
The darkness ships followed them and landed in a triangle around their ship. The people inside ran out and knelt down pointing black, futuristic guns at James and Josie who stumbled out of the ship.
"Make any sudden movements and we'll kill you. You are to kneel down and place your hands behind your head." instructed one of them.
"What are you going to do with us?" asked James but instead of a reply he got shot in the foot which sent him to the floor.
"Be quiet and do what we say!" instructed a different person. James and Josie got into kneeling positions but before they could put their hands behind their heads the ground began to shake and two of the gunners were crushed between to slabs of rock. Another was surrounded with water and launched into space while three more were electrocuted by a massive arc of lightning. The last gunner looked around frantically trying to find the attackers but was caught by a gust of wind the took them up and quickly back down onto their neck. Before they could do anything, James and Josie had bags placed over their heads and something injected into their necks that made them fall asleep.
James awoke to a blinding light being shone in his face.
"Who do you work for?" asked a heavily altered voice. James groaned at the thought of another interrogation.
"I don't work for anyone. I'm here to stop the darkness nation from destroying earth and turning it into a battle field." said James, still half asleep. Their was 'ding' and the light was turned off.
"I didn't think there were any others." said the voice. James' eyes adjusted and he saw his interrogator. It was an older boy, around 20 with black hair swept to the side and pricing blue eyes that sat behind a pair of glasses. He was wearing a black long sleave shirt with metal attached to make a sort of armour and padded trousers.
"It seems you were telling the truth. Follow me, your friend has been very annoying." said the guy.
"Who? Do you mean Josie?" asked James.
"So that's her name. I'm guessing your James, she called you that. I'm William and I'm the leader of this group."
"Ok, hello William. Who is in this group then?"
"Like I said, follow me." William walked over to a door and opened it. James got up out of the chair and followed.
They entered a large hanger like room with it's walls covered in weapons, armour, chalkboards with battle strategies written on them, and gun like the one the gunners used but three times bigger. There was a large object covered up under a tarp in a corner and in the centre there was a large, oval table. It was at this table Josie was seated along with four other people. William walked up to the table and took a seat. Josie saw James and sighed in relief.
"Finally, they wouldn't tell me where you were so I started to worry." said Josie, leaning back in the chair.
"Aaawwww, you were worried about me?" mocked James. Josie shot him a stern look and James looked at the rest of the people at the table.
"I think it's time for introductions." said William "This is Liam, an earth elemental" William pointed to tall man, around the same age as William with pale blue eyes and light brown hair. He wore a red vest that failed to hide his bulky arms and joggers covered in dirt and dry mud. "This is Izzy, an electricity elemental" William gestured to a girl around 18 years old, long black hair down to her waist, and brown eyes. She was wearing a navy blue, one piece suit with lines of metal running all over. "That's Ben, an air elemental" William nodded to a guy about 19 years old with green eyes and fair brown hair. He had pale blue coat that went down to his knees and covered his arms and James could just see he had light blue trousers on underneath. "And finally, Edward, or Ed for short. He's a light elemental" The last person was about 21 with blonde curly hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a long white robe with light blue jeans and a shirt that said 'Keep calm and spam full restores'. "We're a group who are rebelling against the war by taking down weapon shipments and stuff." said Edward.
"Quite the diverse group. Is this everyone?" asked James.
"Yeah, I don't think we're miss-" William was cut off by an electronical voice that echoed through the room saying "How dare you!"
"What was that?" asked Josie. A light flicked on overhead and a hologram of a head appeared on the table. It had curly ginger hair and many freckles.
"My name is AIDEN, the AI for Dangerous Extraterrestrial Navigation. Although I'm mostly put on silent." The head looked at Liam with an annoyed look and Liam chuckled to himself.
After explaining where they were from and what they're planning to do, James and Josie show their fusion technique to the group.
"That's cool and all but I have a question that I think we all have, what is your plan for getting to the darkness nation's weapon? Nobody knows how guarded it is, how strong it is, or even where it is!" asked Ben. James looked at Josie and stepped back.
"Go on Josie, tell them your amazingly thought out plan." said James.
"Well, I...um, I DON'T KNOW OK! All I know is that we need to do something to stop them from using that weapon any more. A plus would be to get all the leaders together and end the war altogether but that's practically impossible." said Josie, slightly embarrassed.
"Well one thing is going to happen for sure, and that's all of us dying in around 10 seconds." said Aiden.
"What do you mean?" asked Edward. He was answered by an alarm going off and the whole table being turned into a hologram showing more gunners pointing at a small metal door.
"Damn, they found us, battle positions!" shouted Liam and they ran off in different directions.
"Shall we see if the training paid off?" asked James and Josie chuckled.
"This is going to be fun."
James opened the door and walked outside with his hands in the air. The gunners focused on James.
"What is he doing? Is he trying to get himself killed." exclaimed Aiden.
"Move in on three!" ordered William, watching James from behind a nearby rock.
"We'll give you 5 seconds to get down on the ground and tell us where the other rebels are or we'll shoot!" shouted a gunner.
"You know, if you had said the magic word I would have saved you for last. Instead, you'll be the first to die."
"Wh-" before the gunner could finish, James burst into flames and punched the gunner in the face, sending them flying through the air a crashing into one of their ships. The others looked in shock but when they looked back at James he was in the air and had charged a massive fireball which he launched at the area with the most gunners. The others were met with the ground below them flicking them up as James landed and punched the ground. He then kicked them one by one as they came down before clicking which set off thousands of tiny fire balls littered everywhere to exploded ripping any survivors apart or leaving them to burn.
"Only 10 seconds? I would have thought you could have lasted longer than that." joked Josie as flames dispersed from James and they defused.
"That was incredible!" shouted Izzy running up to James and pulling his arm close "You have to teach me how to do that!" Josie started to feel jealous as James blushed and found a way to dislodge his arm from Izzy's hug. The rest of the group came over in complete shock.
"That was blitz wasn't it!?" exclaimed Edward before pulling out a notebook and writing something down. William walked up clapping slowly.
"Well, you may have showboated a little bit but that was pretty cool." said William.
"Since you're a fire elemental, does this mean we now have a member from every nation?" asked Liam. Looking at Edward for confirmation.
"Well, every nation excluding the darkness nation." Josie added quickly.
"Yeah, which means...we can finally pass the celestial trial." said Ben smiling a little bit.
"The celestial trial? What's that?" asked James.
"We'll explain on the ship." said Izzy.
