Stepping through the portal was horrific. It wasn’t like any portal I ever went through, there was no control just swirling violence. The first thing I became aware of was the freezing cold wind and the vast wall of white, that was the blizzard that seem to surround us. The second was the terrifying screams of Layla and Tempest and the pull of the magic rope that was around my waist. Invisible and lengthening but always there connecting the three of us. As I dug my heels into the snow-covered ground and hastily wove the pattern for the anchoring spell the blue-green light of my magic was almost dimmed by the blizzard. Finally, the spell was in place and I stopped slipping towards the edge of what I assumed was a cliff.
“Layla honey, are you and Tempie, okay?”
“We are trying to control the storm but it’s not working we only managed to create a warm wind around us to stop us from freezing.”
