I was speechless. The man in front of me was carrying such a heavy burden. I was trying to digest everything he just told me. "Zairon..." I began, my voice barely above a whisper. "I had no idea..."
My heart ached for what he confessed to me. I didn't know that he experienced this.
He gave me a sad smile. "I know. I didn't want you to know, Laurene. I didn't want you to see this side of me."
"But why?" I asked, my heart aching for him. "Why did you feel the need to hide this from me?"
"Because I was afraid," he admitted. "I was afraid that you would look at me differently. I just wanted to keep it from you but I didn't want you to be angry."
I smiled. "I won't get angry. I will listen to you no matter what. I'm here," I said firmly, gripping his hand tightly.
He looked at me with eyes filled with relief. "Thank you, baby," he said, his voice choking with emotion. "Thank you for understanding."
