Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Speaking of the needs of the Vampires
I sighed as everyone was seated around the small table in the back room of the great hall. "Thank you for meeting with us." Messenger Alexander said.
"Hey, we came here to speak to the vampires if we can get a better understanding of what the clans need we can better set up trade between the Clans, the Covens, the Packs, and the Humans." Norman said with a shrug.
"I dislike this." The messenger York said glaring. "This was meant to be just the King…" I glared at him.
"Messenger York." I spoke sharply. "I understand your king told you to speak to my king on this but he is busy at the moment and if you do not wish to speak to the delegates from the outside of the needs of your clan then you may leave!" I snap at him. "Your king can speak to them at the tournament then."
"Now see." He started before I stood up.
"I would watch how you speak to me, Messenger." I said dropping his name. "I am the Lady of this Clan, the Lady of Acraria family, Princess of the Torant clan, Heiress of the Dragon witch Clan I will not take being insulted in my own home so you better choose your words with care."
A soft whistle came from Tacal as he watched us. "Shut your mouth." He snapped at him making Tacal growl and I stand up slamming my hands down onto the table.
"Enough!" I spat at him. "Knight Katherine!" I yell at the door.
"Yes, my Lady?" She asked as she opened the door blinking confused. I never call her by her title.
"Please remove Messenger York from this meeting. I do not need to feed the ego of an egotistical male." I snap.
"Of course my lady!" She said grinning, walked over to him, grabbed his arm, and yanked him out of his seat. "Come along Messenger." She says and drags him from the room despite his protest.
"My Apologies." I sighed as I sat down.
"No Apologies needed." Mother said. "This is very much just so we can get an understanding of the clans' needs. We will speak to their king as you said in two weeks." Mother said.
"I have a feeling we already know the biggest thing that the clans are going to want." Tacal said. "Fresh blood for the clan meaning you want people to turn." He spoke softly looking from Messenger Alexander to me.
"You would be correct." He nodded in agreement with him.
"I believe with the help of Messenger Alexander we can set some basic limits on who can be turned." I spoke softly.
"That would be a wise idea." Norman said as he pulled out a pad of paper and pen.
"First and foremost children under the age of 14 should not be turned unless it is that or their deaths." I spoke.
"Agreed we do not wish to curse someone to be a child forever even as their mind still grows and develops they would be stuck in a child's body." Alexander agreed with me. "We had a few of them. In our clan but they all killed themselves because many of them felt like they were living a half-life."
"Okay." Tacal said softly noting this.
"My clan at the very least one needs to be able to withstand doing Isolated burning the change." He said.
"Here in the north, the only person you have with you when you are changed is the person that changed you." I said.
"Same they will care for you during and after the change but you must be able to handle the pain of the turning alone." He agreed.
"How painful is being turned." Tacal asked, looking at me.
"Honestly I am not sure what was causing me the pain, the injuries I had or the turning you would have to speak to Loran on that." I said softly.
"I can do that after this." He said with a nod.
"They will have to learn our ways." Alexander said. "It would not be a turn and help though the change then let them go back to their old life with my clan they would have to come home with us to the clan lands."
"That would be the same with most clans." I agreed with him. "I am sure if it's with children from the ages of 14 to 18 their parents would be welcome to join them here in the clan lands of those of the north but I can not say anything of the other clans."
"We would offer the parents to be turned as well." Alexander said. "We would not want humans in our lands. No offense but my king is very picky on who he lets in." He said.
"Even with Vampires." I agreed.
"That makes sense." Mom said.
"I know we would have them leaving our culture and understanding our ways." I said.
"That is understandable." Tacal said.
I was about to say more when the door opened. "My Lady the King wishes for you and your Father to meet him at the edge of town." Guard Isaac said.
"Isaac gets Loran and has her work with them on what would and would not be wanted in the clans' Kat watches them. If anything happens." I started and she held up her hand.
"I won't let anything happen to your mother and brother." She said. I step into the shadows and then Father and I pull out of Logan and Maxwell's shadow.
"You wanted me, my King?" I asked him.
"Yes My Lady." He said tightly.
"What is it you need my king?" Father asked glaring past Maxwell and at him.
"Yes, I need your advice and possibly your sword." He said the last part looking at me.
"What seems to." I started then stopped as I looked at the mangy vampire and my stepfather. "You stupid moron." I groaned under my breath.
"You do not wish to start a war do you, Matthew?" Father asked.
"Now now I have given my brother the terms I wish for and I will let him go." He said with a feral grin.
"And what terms are that?" Father asked Logan.
"A small house at the edge of town and to remove the band on him." He said softly.
"Removing the band would let him make a bid for the throne." Father said.
"I know." He said softly.
"Tag team?" I asked, then they looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
"What?" Dad asked and I rolled my eyes and slid in such a way that Dad could see my hands but Logan blocked Matthew's view of me.
Signing *Wolf hits him from behind then you knock him back enough for me to pull jackass into the shadows.*
I can see the gears moving in his head. He made the sign for birds and then with a nod I called forth wolves and birds behind the male and I shivered as lightning ran through me as I dropped back into the shadows and they went for him and father moved from the front. There was a reason I am knight to beat in the clan. The wolves pounced on him knocking him off balance making him let go of my Stepfather and I dragged him into the shadows as Father landed on top of the idiot. I remembred with him as Father was doing not nice things to the male.
"You fucking pig!" Father snarled.
"Your welcome." I said as I let go of the idiot. "But what made you think it was a good idea to go into the end!" I all but yell at him.
"I came to get my son." He snarled at me.
"Over my dead body." Both Father and I said.
"You will find that young Xavier has been taken into the Arcaria house as he is Lady Diana's younger brother." Logan spat glaring at him. "To try and take him from his mother so you can abuse the poor boy would be a death sentence while you are on MY lands."
"You dare!" He started.
"I AM THE KING OF THE NORTHERN LAND AND SO HELP ME I WILL NOT BE DISRESPECTED BY A CHILD ABUSER IN MY HOME. IF NOT FOR YOUR WIFE I WOULD SEE YOU IN THE MINES!" Logan rawred at him. His jaw clicked shut finally seeing he would get nowhere with this except punishment.
"Smart just stay quiet." I grinned at him as he scolds me. "I will prepare a guard to escort you back to the gate when the sun rises."
"I will not be leaving without my child." He growled at me.
"You are not in the place to be making demands." Father spat as he walked up cleaning blood from his hands.
"Is he still alive?" I asked him.
"For now I have the shadows dumping him in the river." Dad spoke with a smile.
