Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Exploring the dungeon!
"Take this!" Surge yelled as he swung his Warhammer, smashing two skeletons to pieces and shattering their bones to dust.
Blake and the others had left the village now and headed deeper into the dungeon, following the map that they had toward the furthest part that had been drawn.
Along the way, Blake had seen that his system had displayed the option for him to create a party with the group. Not sure what it would do, Blake decided to try it out, creating a party with the others, suddenly being able to see them on a mini-map in the corner of his vision as well as gain a share of EXP for each time they killed another monster.
[20 EXP rewarded.] The system said after Surge had killed the skeletons.

It had been a while now since Blake had checked out his stat screen, having been so busy with the reforming of the village and managing things on a day to day basis that he had had no time to train or practice with any of his new abilities.
Still, he was feeling stronger than ever and was excited to finally get to test some of his new skills and ability's on monsters especially his new Dragon breath, that would allow him to breathe fire like a dragon.
"With this Warhammer by my side, nothing will be able to stand in my way!" Surge yelled, holding his hammer in the air like Thor after killing the skeletons.
"Alright big guy, chill it." Rakbi said, seeing that he was starting to get a big head about it.
Everyone else laughed at Surge who growled a little before letting it go.
"Come on you lot, we still have a way to go so make sure you keep your guard up." Blake said, reading the map to make sure they were going the right way.
Everyone nodded in agreement and followed Blake through the dungeon, making sure to keep an eye out for any potential threats as they did.
Blake had been focoused on the map, that he had failed to notice the change in smell in the air, looking up for a second.
"Wait..." Blake said as the group walked along the path, getting a notification from his system that an enemy was close by.
Suddenly a giant spider lunged out of the shadows, jumping high into the air as it pounced toward Zar with its fangs ready to take a bite out of him.
Zar ducked down and blocked the spider with his shield, flipping it over before he pushed it away, getting some distance with the others.
Now is the perfect chance to test my new ability. Blake thought as the others surrounded the spider, watching as it hissed at the group, scattering around using its large and hairy legs to move around quickly.
"Take this, Dragon breath!" Blake shouted as he opened his mouth and let loose a powerful blast of Dragon's fire that engulfed the giant spider monster.
The spider howled in pain as the fire set it ablaze, causing it to scurry around before the fire killed it in an instant without much resistance at all.
"Looks like that did it." Blake said while he watched it burn, seeing that his Dragon's breathe ability had cost him some Mana points, still have lots to spare.
"Wow... What was that!" Nev asked, saying what the others were all thinking.
"A new ability I unlocked once I evolved." Blake said, trying not to have a smug look on his face.
"Well, with an ability like that, remind me not to get on your bad side." Rakbi said while she twirled her dagger in her hand before putting it away.
"Well, I will do my best." Blake said with a smile before he walked over to the giant spider and snapped one of its legs off, eating it without even thinking about it.
"Umm... hungry?" Rakbi asked, looking at him a little strange, as did Zar.
"Get used to it, he eats everything he kills." Nev said, with Surge also shrugging his shoulder's having gotten used to it.
"Come, we still have a long way to go before we reach our starting point." Blake said once he had finished his snack, taking another look at the map, seeing they were still only half way there.
[Giant spider consumed.] The system said, showing him he had gained some EXP toward his spider thread, spider venom and poison resistance abilities.
"Yes, sir." Everyone said before they followed his lead, heading through the dungeon again, keeping an eye out for anymore monsters that might be lurking in the shadows.
However, they found little to no monsters, other than a few giant rats, not posing any threat to them as they delt with them easily and took some meet for later while they were at it.
The group had now been walking for a few hours, causing their bodies to grow tired having to lug all the weapons and kit with them.
"Just how far does this path lead?" Rakbi asked, feeling her legs getting tired.
"I'm not sure, but it feels like it lasts forever..." Nev also said, looking through the darkness as far as his eyes could see.
Blake was also keeping an eye out, with both his eyes and his system, scanning the area with his keen senses.
"We made it." Blake suddenly said as he came to a halt, causing everyone else to stop in their tracks.
"This is the end of the map..." Blake said, looking ahead through the darkness.
"It splits off into two paths..." Zar said, being able to see a fork in the road.
"Maybe that's why they stopped mapping here?" Rakbi also said, placing her hands on her hips.
Blake could see that his system's mini map was picking up a few enemies coming from the path on the right, while the path on the left seemed clear.
"Alright, everyone lets move out. Zar you are in charge of map marking." Blake said, getting a nod from him.
"Rakbi, you are to keep tabs on the new map information, make sure to keep notes and lay out a path on the stone tablet." He also said, knowing that she had a higher intelligence than the others, making her perfect for the job to remember and interrupt things.
"Yes sir." Rakbi said, happy that he trusted her with such an important job.
"lets go." Blake said, leading the way down the right path, heading closer and closer to where the system was showing a small group of enemies, watching as they slowly came into view.
"Look out, monsters up ahead." Surge said, gripping his Warhammer tight in his hand.
Good senses... Blake said to himself, knowing that Surge had detected them before any of the others.
Suddenly a group of ghouls appeared in the distance, also noticing Blake and the others before they snarled and started charging toward them.
"Wow, what the hell are those things!" Nev shouted, pulling his shield Infront of his with his spear pointed over it in a defensive position.
That's a good question. Blake thought, asking the system to identify them.
[Ghouls... These are lower level undead monsters. With their razor-sharp teeth and jagged claws, ghouls roam the night in packs, driven by an insatiable hunger for humanoid flesh.] The system said, giving Blake information on the creatures.
"They are Ghouls, an undead monster so be carful!" Blake shouted, warning the others.
The Ghouls charged toward him and the others, with the first one lunging at Nev, getting a spear through the gut.
"Got ya!" Nev yelled, happy to have taken out the first one.
However, the Ghoul pushed down the shaft of his spear before it smashed against his shield, showing that it was unfazed by his attack.
"W-What the fuck!" Nev cried out, trying to stop the Ghoul from biting him as it snapped its sharp teeth together, trying to take a chunk out of his shoulder.
Surge suddenly appeared in the air with his war hammer raised, smashing it into the monsters head, completely crushing it with one mighty swing.
The Ghoul dropped to the ground dead, allowing them to turn their attention to the others that were about to attack them now.
"Go for the head!" Blake yelled out as he drew his large two handed sword from his back.
"Right!" Nev also shouted, pushing forward as he rammed one of the Ghouls with his shield, knocking it over before he thrust his spear into the undead creatures face, killing it with one clean blow.
Surge jumped back and dodged a claw swipe from one of the others, feeling their sharpness even as it cut through the air.
"Get back you fucker!" He yelled out, kicking the monster in the chest with a strong boot, knocking it over before he lifted his war hammer high over his head and slammed it down onto the Ghouls chest, getting a sickening crush as the blow broke its bones.
Only three were left now and Blake had clamed them to himself, quickly swooping into the middle of all three of them as they jumped at him with their claws raised high.
"Take this!" Blake yelled as he swung his two handed sword in a full circle around his body, chopping all three of their heads off at once, making it look easy.
"That's that." Blake said, having seen that these were only low level, being level 11 each.
"I've never seen a monster like that before..." Zar said, giving one of the dead bodies a kick.
"Me neither." Rakbi said, seeing that the one Surge had hit in the chest was still alive, slowly healing from the blow it had received.
Rakbi lifted her foot and crushed the monsters skull with her heel, smiling as she did so.
"Looks like the only way to keep them down is by destroying their head." She said with a toothy grin.
"Yes, seems to do the job." Zar said, making a note of the new monster they had discovered.
"I guess there is no telling what else we might run into here." Blake then said, getting a nod from the others before he looked at one of the bodies of the dead Ghouls, not being able to help but wonder.
"Lets see what happens." He said, ripping one of their arms off before he took a bite out of it, causing the others to look at him in shock.
"L-Lord Drak! What are you doing!" Zar asked, knowing that he shouldn't eat undead flesh.
However, Blake chewed the monsters arm and swallowed it, waiting to see what his system had to say about it.
[Ghoul flesh consumed. You have gained the Paralysis ability] The system said.
[Paralysis ability. This allows you to Paralyze a target for a couple of second with a claw attack or bite.] The system then explained.
This could be interesting, Blake thought, quickly eating all of the others Ghouls, much to the shock of his party members.
