Chapter 99: Chapter 100: Training and Trials (Part 1)
Alexander regained conciousness to find himself trapped within an enclosed space. Alexander was feeling very cramped and he found that he was submerged halfway in a pool. Alexander thought, " When did I got into such a tightly enclosed pool?....Last thing I remember is taking the rebirth pill and getting knocked out due to the tremendrous energy contained within the pill. Let's check my surroundings...The walls are pretty smooth but strangely they re soft and warm. The pool is also very warm. Did I got transported to a spa of cultivation world? Do cultivation worlds even have a spa?"
As Alexander was thinking these idiotic thoughts, he continued to survey his surroundings and came to a realisation, " F**K!!! I am inside an egg. I had thought that the rebirth pill would just make my body stronger but I am literally getting rebirthed here. I just hope that I don't lose my already awakened magic cells and midichlorians present in my cells as it would be quite a bummer if that happens. Let's check on my kingdom first."
Alexander connected himself with the mind of Carter and came to know that it has been twenty years since Alexander and his men had gone to the Ancient Dragon Clan Ruins. The general public was unaware of Alexander's disappearance but the people in the know were quite tense and afraid. They had increased the rate of exploration of the ocean belt and took away everything they could get their hands on. The amount of conflicts that happened with the marine beasts were astronomical and a few cultivators had lost their lives in the fight.
They had even looted the palaces and cities on the ocean floor to their very foundations and took away everything that they could be taken away. Alexander learned that they had recovered millions of High-grade spirit stones along with many cultivation techniques, long lost pill formulas and formation charts, forging techniques and alchemy techniques. Alexander also came to know that his subjects were planning to once again forcefully enter the ruins and turn them upside down to rescue them.
Alexander was touched by their dedication. His Kingdom now had 3,000 Peak Tenth-Order Saint Realm cultivators. These fellows were the first to advance to the Saint realm 20 years ago. It was a proof of their dedication and talent that they were able to advance from Early First-Order Saints to Peak-Tenth Order Saints in just 20 years. As the time ritual restricted the spatial laws, these saints were not able to use it for advancement. A saint needs to understand both the time and space to advance.
Alexander also came to know that an additional 30,000 Saint Realm cultivators had joined the forces of his kingdom. Moreover, 80 Trillion children had awakened their martial spirits. The amount of anger and frustration was increasing among the few sections of public as they also wanted to cultivate. Alexander didn't pay attention to these people as they had long since passed the idle age of cultivation and would be soon reaching the end of their lifespan. The average lifespan of his carbon subjects was 1,000 years and majority of protestors had reached 600 years and were going to croak soon.These protestors also had literally no talent in magic and were struck below or at crystal stage.
The powerful magus were not worried as each advancement in rank increased their lifespan by 50 years. There was a new race going on between the powerful magus of his kingdom. Tens of trillions of Magus were competing to become the first god of magic of the kingdom as the glory and prestige of accomplishing this would make them remembered by people as long as the kingdom exits. The one leading the race was Jacob Salamander, a descendent of Newt Salamander who was attuned to earth element. He was followed by Susan Bones who was attuned to fire element and Daphne Greengrass who was attuned to ice element. These three were wholly dedicated to advancing and were not paying attention to anything else. They were at Rank 94, Rank 93 and Rank 92 respectively. Rank 90 was the major threshold of advancement as one has to integrate completely with an element in order to advance further. The general public was also curious at what rank Alexander had reached.
Alexander didn't waste more time as he was beginning to feel drowsy. Alexander said via mind link, " Carter!!!"
JONATHAN CARTER's P.O.V:
It's been 20 years since His Majesty had gotten struck in those ruins. Thinking of those ruins makes my blood boil, we will surely get our revenge on that dragon. What has our majesty been undergoing all these years? As I was thinking about our battle plan against that dragon, a familiar and long awaited voice sounded in my mind, calling out my name. I should up in joy and surprise and spoke out loud, " Your Highness!!! Are you alright? Where are you? We will come there immediately."
Alexander replied, " There is no need to rescue me as I am in seclusion. The dragon which evicted our people was the Grand Elder of The Ancient Dragon Clan. She has chosen me as the candidate for the position successor of the clan. I will have to undergo tough training and trials to prove my worth so I will not be able to contact you for decades. When all the Saint Realm cultivators advance to the HighGod Realm, I want them to leave this world and conquer all the world surfaces in the nearby galaxies which don't have a HighGod Realm Cultivator. Don't conquer this world yet. Also, each team would have 5 cultivators and we need to be discrete in our conquest. I will meet you again when my training completes. Take care, Carter!!!"
A heavy burden lifted off my shoulders as I came to know that His Majesty was alright. It was indeed good news that His Majesty was going to inherit the clan as it would being immense benefits to the kingdom. As for his orders, we will try to fulfill them with our full capacity. I should also inform others about this.
Alexander didn't try to fight back the sleep which was invading his senses and slowly slept back peacefully. When Alexander woke up again, he found himself feeling suffocated and tried to take in deep breaths but found that there was very little air inside. Alexander thought, " Looks like the time for my birth has come. The pool has also dried up."
Alexander moved his hands to strike at the shell and found that his claws were bounced back. Alexander tried a few more times and only got hairline cracks on the shells for his efforts. Alexander called forth his magic to his claws. A potent energy came from the cells of his body and his claws got coated in silver light. Alexander again struck the shell and this time his claws cut through shell like it didn't even existed in the first place.
Alexander enlarged the hole and struck out his head out of the hole and observed the surroundings. He found himself in front of the trail towers. Alexander looked around but didn't find the will anywhere near him. Alexander enlarged the hole and slowly extracted himself out of the egg. Alexander found that his size had increased to 600 metres in length and 60 metres in width. Alexander then turned his attention to the egg and found that the egg was rainbow coloured and was shining very brightly. Before he could observe the egg more, he was hit with a great sense of hunger and a very delicious smell entered his nose. Alexander noticed that the smell was originating from the egg shell and without hesitation ate the whole thing and fell asleep on the spot.
Alexander was jolted awake when something smacked on his nose. Alexander shook his head and opened his eyes to see an angry Grand Elder floating before him. The Grand Elder sighed and said, " If you continue to sleep like this, your enemies would easily kill you in your sleep."
Alexander stood up and said, " Grand Elder!!! Am I ready for training?"
The Grand Elder snorted and said, " You don't even know to how to walk properly and you want to train."
Alexander asked, " How do dragons walk?"
The Grand Elder said in a prideful voice, " We don't walk, we fly." Alexander had a very shocked expression and said, "Only Saint Realm cultivators can fly."
The Grand Elder continued in same prideful tone, " In my time, newborn dragons were at Saint Realm from birth. But since you don't even have any qi, I will teach you to how to walk. The humans copied our way of moving. First move your legs on the right side and then, the left side. Practice this till you will be able to run at full speed and dodge anything in your way." Alexander looked around and saw vast plains without any kind of obstacles. Alexander suddenly had a very bad feeling about this.
Alexander cursed in his mind as he crashed into another boulder which was thrown in his way by the wicked Grand Elder. The boulders were not normal stones but was made of stone which was harder than metal and the accursed thing even had spikes on it, he had nearly lost his eyes several times. The training was truly tough, he had been running like this for one week without any kind of rest. Alexander came to know new things about his inherent adaptibility, Alexander was very quickly adapting to all that was thrown at him in name of training. His fighting instincts were being honed, his stamina was increasing steadily and his situational awareness was also improving.
Alexander cursed as he crashed into a wall which literally grew out from the ground. Alexander heard the Grand Elder say, " I forgot to tell you that I am a earth dragon. Prepare yourself for the next level." For a second, Alexander thought about flinging a volley of Avada Kedevara on the will of Grand Elder but had to cast aside those thoughts as a massive pit opened beneath him. Alexander managed to jump out at the last second and looked inside the pit to see that he could not see the depth of it even with his massively improved eyesight. Alexander sweated and continued his running before the crazy elder starts throwing more nasty things at him.
A massive silver dragon was seen lying on the ground with a whitish appariation floating in front of him. The appariation was rebuking the dragon, " It took you 3 months to overcome the obstacle course. I should throw you in another round for this awful performance but you have reached the minimum requirement for attempting the ' Trial Of Bloodline'. I don't have much hope for you to achieve extraordinary results but for a weak dragon like you, getting the lowest-tier dragon fruit would be a miracle."
Alexander rolled his massive eyes and said, " What happened to the kind and wise Grand Elder that I met in the start?"
The Grand Elder snorted and said, " That kind dragoness died after witnessing your absolute lack of talent. Now Move!!"
Alexander snorted in response and propelled himself off the ground with such speed that send a large amount of stones and dust flying on the Grand Elder. When, her vision cleared, she smiled a wicked smile and said, " Little Fellow!!! I will let you know why I was called 'The Sadistic Queen' by the clan elders in our next training session." The Grand Elder then moved to follow Alexander.
