Chapter 29: Talents

Not all the students watching the match between Morgan and Rayleigh could see how Morgan won before it was too late. Some students were dumbstruck at how such a quick turnaround. Nonetheless, a rain of applause went out through Prontera Academy after the initial shock. Morgan Lake had made it to the representative team.

"The Prince has arrived." chuckled a red hair boy spectating, "Headmaster, looks like Prontera's future is secured as long as he keeps progressing. He's even stronger than I was two years ago. Rayleigh is a top talent in the kingdom and was nothing in his eyes."

An old man with a silver hair and beard wearing a blue colored cloak, this man was the headmaster of Prontera Academy. "Kliff, always thinking about the future. This kid Morgan, his future is set, the next few years will be quite interesting." laughed the headmaster. "Guide him well Kliff."

The two turned towards Morgan who was bowing to the crowd, their eyes were filled with high hopes and aspirations.

Elsewhere, in the northern reach of the Rivenhart Kingdom laid Tempest Academy. There was a roar of applause which filled the entirety of the training grounds of Tempest Academy. A blue haired girl had her fist in the air in a victory pose.

"Aerith! Aerith! Aerith!" shouted the crowd.

Aerith had easily disposed of her opponent with her ability to cast several different elemental spells at the same time. Her opponent, a fire elementalist, didn't have a single chance to defend herself as the elemental advantage was too great.

In the last few months from the moment she got to Tempest Academy, Aerith had established herself as a future talent. With her four elements her potential was the highest within the kingdom. Tempest Academy's place in the future was secured.

Watching from the upper level was Aerith's father and her headmaster grandfather.

"Engle, our place in the future has been secured. Should Aerith place high within the upcoming academy tournament, she could become a future candidate. You must continue to watch over her. The Tempest family will soar to even greater heights."

"Yes father, we have truly been blessed with Aerith. I can feel my blood boiling as the academy tournament draws closer." Engle said proudly.

"By the way, Engle, you mentioned there were some other special talents back at Elkwood Village?" asked the headmaster.

"Ah, yes, there were two youths from Elkwood village, one chose to go to Prontera Academy, he had an ice trait as well as the darkness affinity. His name is Morgan Lake. We should be expecting to hear about him in a few years. A unique trait is rare to come by if you aren't from that bloodline."

"And so Prontera Academy continues to stockpile unbelievable talents..." murmured the headmaster. "And what of the other?"

"His name is Eden Durreye, he managed to get two unique traits, plant, and even a even more strange trait, moonlight which has never been heard of." continued Engle. "No one is sure where he went after having his affinities revealed."

"Englewood Village certainly have had an amazing bounty. This may have been the only time in the history of our kingdom that three such unique talents have been identified by the orb. I hope that young man Eden did not join the other two academies. With these two talents, Prontera and Tempest can distance themselves further from Viridian and Thauvin."

"Father, there have also been reports that Eldritch Academy have gotten themselves another talented darkness affinity elementalist, and he has a unique trait."

"That Eldritch Academy, always taking all the darkness elementalists and nipping at the buds of the four kings." laughed the headmaster, "Engle, make sure Aerith gets our full support. This upcoming tournament is exciting. Engle, take a trip over to Crux City, many academies send their students there to train and get ready. Scout out the academies so that we can get more information on their students."

"Yes father, I'll head to Crux City immediately. Hopefully by the time I return Ezel would have sent out his paper on the top future talents within the Kingdom. One of the perks of proctoring the orb examination." Engle disappeared quickly after saying a quick farewell to his father.

'Englewood Village, such a collection of talents to appear from there this generation. The Rivenhart Kingdom is in good hands.' smiled the headmaster. 'And Tempest Academy will be at the top'

In the heart of the capital of Rivenhart Kingdom, a young man was writing on a parchment while peering out the window, his gaze upon the city. On his desk was a crystall ball that radiated every now and then, would emit a rainbow colored light.

'Number one... there really is only one choice' thought Ezel.

'The number one future talent from this year's journey... Aerith Tempest of Elkwood Village. With her four elements she can command a multitude of attacks. She has the highest potential within the kingdom and possibly the world.' scribbled Ezel.

'Number two, with a unique trait of ice and the possession of a rare element, darkness, Morgan Lake will be a future leader within the kingdom should his talents be grown correctly. His presence at Prontera Academy will lead to many great things in the future."

"HAHAHAHA" laughed Ezel, "Thank God I put up with this proctoring year in year out haha! The measley payment King Ash gives me is so pitiful compared to this. Once I casually throw out some hints to the right people, the names on here will spread like wildfire. Academies, the military, guilds, everyone is going to want my paper! Another year of stockpiling gold!"

Ezel was known for submitting a report full of the top hundred talents within the kingdom, it was extremely valuable and entertaining to the citizens of Rivenhart and the thousands of organizations, many waited in anticipation for the day Ezel would release his report. This report was dubbed, 'The Ezel 100.'

'Alright, alright calm down Ezel. Beauties, riches, fame, everything starts and ends with this list. Who is going to be number three?" Ezel pondered.

Ezel looked out the window his gaze on the city. He looked up to see a full moon.
