Chapter 1: The Tower. (1)

-------------------------------------------------------

Before you start this story, I feel like you gotta know a few things.

1. This story will have many OC's because the MC isn't just following Baam's team up the tower. If you don't like that, then just know that im not going to change it so you can decide what you want to do from there.

2. There's a system. You'll see me asking if I should add a system later in the fic but that was before I added it. If you dont like that, again, you decide what you wanna do cause im not going to change it.

3. If you came to this fic to see the main cast characters constantly being focused on, then this is not the fic for you.

4. Please read the tags properly. The Mc is pretty ruthless. So if you can't handle that, don't read. I don't wanna see any comments about the MC being too ruthless when that is exactly what was advertised. So again, if it's not to your liking, don't expect me to change it. At least, not by much. The End.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Would you like to go to a fantasy world? Huh?" Erik sat down looking at the random message that just popped up on his computer in complete bewilderment. In all of his 29 years of life on this earth, he had never seen such a strange message appear randomly on his computer. At first, he thought it was a phishing link but when he checked again, it didn't open a second tab or cause anything to pop up. It was extremely peculiar.

*click* *click*

He couldn't even click off of it as there wasn't any way he could close it. It was like someone else had taken control of his computer screen.

"Maybe if I..."

Erik dropped down on the floor to find his electric outlet and quickly unplugged it as soon as he did. As he started getting up, he breathed a sigh of relief at the fact that this weird little episode was over. He thought that maybe he would tell his friends at work in the army base about it to see if anything similar ever happened to them.

"What the f..."

The computer was still on. Erik moved the mouse from right to left in hopes of it just being an error on the monitor, but the clicker was moving just fine. It was as if the computer was never disconnected in the first place.

Erik sat back down in his chair and kept staring at the computer screen in shock, wondering what he was going to do next. Of course, being someone that possesses above-average intellect, Erik didn't take long to sort out his options.

**********************************************

{A/N: Ight fellas, homie is kinda, sorta, maybe, probably above average when it comes to intellect. Look just don't flame me too hard if the MC (well, me) does some dumb shit. It be like that sometimes. Go easy on me.}

**********************************************

'Alright, my first option is to just ignore this, go to bed, and wake up to everything being cool. It's not the smartest option, but it's the least stressful. My second option is to drain the power supply and hope that it shuts off, but judging from how freaky this shit is acting, it's not gonna work.'

Erik scowled and rubbed his temples for a bit before continuing:

'Lastly, I can just go along with it and hope that it's a prank or some dumb Indian hacker trying me. That, again is not the smartest solution but it would be the fastest way to sort it out. I'm sure I'm not gonna get whisked away to some weird world with magic and shit, right?'

Erik sighed and made up his mind to just complete whatever was on his monitor in hopes of it going away.

'Alright Erik, let's just get this over with.'

He quickly typed 'Yes' into the available space and watched as the fairly small box opened up into a kind of slot machine with three different sections. Question marks were where the skills should be so Erik already guessed that it was going to be a random pick.

-Innate Skills:?

-Appearance:?

-Techniques:?

'Hm, I'm guessing these are gonna be the skills and appearance I would take on in the other world....is this some kind of roleplay?' Erik just shook his head and clicked on the red lever that was above the three sections. The question marks spun rapidly for several seconds before the 'Innate Skills' section started to slow down and eventually stop.

-Innate Skills:

Berserker - Increases physical abilities and allows the user to get stronger when people die around him.

Eternal Evolution - The user can evolve past all obstacles, limitations, restrictions, opponents, and environments, regardless of their current status. This enables them to evolve infinitely with no limit or restriction to the quantity or quality of their evolution, leaving the user's body in a constant state of evolution and growth. Their progress is continuous, even when they have transcended every limitation, opponent, etc.

Peak Human Condition - The user's bodily functions are pushed to the pinnacle of human conditioning; therefore, the user's strength, speed, stamina, senses, agility, reflexes, accuracy, longevity, durability, intelligence, healing time, flexibility, and combat skills are near enhanced/superhuman. Will evolve to Absolute Condition as the user gets stronger.

*whistle*

"Looks like I still have my good luck. If this was real I would've had a solid foundation to start with. That first skill though... that kind of power that would've been perfect in the war 3 years ago..."

A glint of sadness washed across Erik's eyes but it soon returned to its usual nonchalant nature. Although he mostly stayed at the army base these days, even after all those years the tragedy he faced while at war plagued him. He was an ex-army sergeant that was known for his exceptional but cruel war tactics. Civilians of all types were tortured or killed by him if they withheld valuable information that would stop him from achieving his objective. His name: Erik Von Jaeger.

From his enemy's perspective, he might be a monster, but from his country's perspective, he was a man who they all looked up to because they knew everything he did was for the good of the country. It was just the nature of war.

'These memories always come back at random times. Sigh, the death of my best friends in the last war...if another war ever erupts in my lifetime, I'll make sure that it doesn't happen again.'

Shaking his head, Erik turned his attention back to the computer screen only to see that the other two sections had already revealed themselves. This time around though, another section had also revealed itself under the other three.

-Appearance: Sukuna. (Itadori Yuji's enhanced stats are a hidden perk of your appearance.)

-Techniques: Niko and Koei styles. (From Kengan)

-Destination: The Tower.

"Sukuna? I would look like a monster-human hybrid? Not bad, I guess. I kinda like it. What are those techniques though? And what is the tower?"

Erik had never heard about Kengan nor the tower so he had no idea what the text on the screen meant. Unfortunately, he wouldn't even get to process the information properly before the monitor immediately cut off, leaving Erik feeling even more bewildered.

He sat there for a bit more and thought about what he read, but he just ended up going to bed in hopes of clearing his mind. Little did he know that it would be his last night on earth.

{An unspecified amount of time later.}

"Evan! Is that guy another irregular? Bam just left and another one arrived?! Let's hurry and wake him up!"

"Princess Yuri, don't go poking random strangers! You're a princess of- sigh..."

Erik quickly opened his eyes, jumped back, and got into a boxing stance as soon as he heard the sound of strange voices. As far as he knew, no one else had the key to his home so the only possible conclusion was that some intruders had entered. But that's when he focused his gaze on the three figures standing in front of him.

"What the...Who are you, people? And what is this creature?!"

Erik tightened his fists and focused his senses on everyone in front of him, watching for the slightest movement. He was currently a muscular teenager with big red eyes sporting black and pink spiky hair. A second pair of eyes were closed under the first pair and could be opened for enhanced vision.

He had special marks/lines all over his body, starting with his forehead, nose, cheeks, and torso. After that, they were two lines on both his wrists, upper arms, circles on both his shoulders with a dot in each, two-segmented curve lines on his chest and two lines on his stomach.

Lastly, he wore a light-colored kimono with a black edge, a black scarf, and black shoes. All in all, Erik looked like a stylish beast of man, literally. He also had clawed hands and sharp teeth, but he wasn't too worried about that aspect of his being right now.

His body felt great...no...more than great, it was almost surreal.

'Is this...?'

Anxiety was building up as he took a glance down at his body and noticed his change of appearance. Confusion immediately took hold of his mind but suddenly, one word appeared in his head: Sukuna.

'Wait, wait, wait. I'm in the body of Sukuna? A rabbit-like creature that could be nothing less than some kind of alien? A tall girl wearing something resembling a school uniform that's speaking some weird language? Don't tell me...there's no way that thing on my computer actually worked!'

Erik was frantic for answers but no matter how many possibilities he tried to think of, the most possible one was that he was transmigrated.

"You sure seem confused, boy. It seems we have many visitors today. Welcome, to the tower."

The white rabbit-like creature spoke to Erik in perfect English, causing him to be in even more disbelief. He tried to calm himself down but he still had his guard up as he didn't know what the intentions of these people were. He then said, "The Tower? Then...it seems I was right. Hey, Mister um..."

"Headon. I am the guardian of the first floor of the tower. What's your name, young man?"

"Right...Headon. My name? I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from, but I don't know what kind of...um...man you are yet. Were you the one responsible for bringing me here? And is there any way to get out of this tower?"

A small smile appeared on Headon's face as he pointed the rod up that he was holding and answered, "Well, I certainly didn't bring you in here but for your other question, all answers are up there. That's all I can tell you. Whether you're looking for wealth, power, immortality, or magical abilities, just head up. All the happiness you could ever want is up there. The Tower is that kind of place."

Erik looked up only to see a bronze-colored ceiling so the only other thing that could be up, is the top of the tower. He didn't have much of a reaction to the rabbit's claims of immortality and magic but he knew that they had to be at least somewhat true because the proof was the rabbit himself.

"You want me to climb the tower just to find out if I can leave it? What if the answer is no?"

Headon only continued smiling and responded casually, "So, how did you get in here? What's the last thing you remember?" Feeling slightly angered that Headon ignored his question, Erik wanted to ignore his but the desire to know exactly what was going on was much stronger. Although, he still didn't want to give too much information to them.

"The last thing I remember? A weird guy just popped out of nowhere and asked me if I would like to go to the tower. Before I could answer, I woke up and found myself here standing in front of you."

"Hsys sietf. Btar you shyrrd be glad. Climbing the tower is dangerous but fun!"

'Wait, at first I didn't understand her language but did my brain just evolve in the process of her talking and I suddenly did? It's that 'Eternal Evolution' ability isn't it?'

Erik was extremely intrigued by what just happened but he decided to keep it to himself. They might think he's suspicious if he just suddenly started speaking their language since he's an outsider.

Noticing that Erik didn't understand, Headon quickly pulled out a small black orb and started walking towards him. Noticing that the rabbit didn't intend to harm him, Erik stayed there watched curiously as Headon handed the orb to him.

"Take it. It's called a pocket. This will translate every language in the tower to Macsethan. Princess Yuri, try-"

The girl wearing a red skirt and white shirt quickly interjected, saying, "Finally you can understand us, kid! What are you doing here in the tower?"

Erik was surprised at this sudden development. He never expected such a highly advanced translator that floats in the air next to its owner. This too added more credence to Headon's earlier statements.

"I'm trying to find a way out of here, Ms..."

She grinned widely as she pointed to herself and responded, "Yuri Jahad. This little short guy right next to me is Evan. He's my A-ranked guide! That said, Mr. Headon, are you going to give him a test? Unlike the last irregular, this one looks like he could handle himself."

"Well, of course, princess. He has to climb the tower to find his way out so a test of appropriate difficulty is warranted."

Erik once again felt slightly angered at the fact that this conversation was not going the way he wanted it to, but he kept his cool. After all, he was still far too ignorant about his surroundings.

"By the way, Headon, I'm guessing there is a way to hide this pocket?"

"Right, there is. Just say 'invisible mode' when you want to hide it and say 'visible mode' when you want it to return."

Erik followed what Headon said and was once again surprised at how advanced this place was. The technology back in his homeworld couldn't even compare.

He then looked at Yuri and said curiously, "So, what is this about irregulars and a test, Princess Yuri?"

"Well, irregulars are...."

Yuri quickly gave Erik a two-minute explanation of how things like regulars, irregulars, tests, Shinsu, and the like work in the tower. It was a bit eye-opening but the matter of a test was plaguing his mind. From how Yuri described it, they sounded extremely dangerous and often life-threatening.

Headon then said, "You have no choice, boy. If you want to leave the tower, you need to pass the tests. And I already have your first one in mind."

He then turned to the blue 'screen' on his left and pointed at it.

"Do you see that creature in there?"

Erik had already seen it when he woke up and was indeed wondering what it was for a while. Erik nodded and Headon continued, "It's called a White Steel Eel. It swims freely in the shinsu that flows through the tower. What I want you to do is..."

Headon waved his staff and two more white steel eels appeared out of the blue substance as if it was made from it.

"Survive for five minutes. If you manage to kill all of them, I'll give you a small reward before you go up to the next floor. Will you do it? Or are you afraid?"

Erik quickly thought of his chances of defeating the eel and what skills he had to do so because giving up wasn't an option. He wanted to get home or at least, get to a place that he can call home.

'If I remember correctly, I had an innate skill called berserker that upped my physical stats and would make me stronger after killing something. Judging from the strength I feel running through me, there's a seventy percent chance that I can win. No, eighty percent. I just need to focus on one of them while dodging the other two. For each one I kill, the chances of me killing the one after go up. Whew, alright Erik, let's do this.'

Yuri was just about to voice her complaints about the brutality of the test to Headon but Erik had already started walking to the bars that separated the two spaces.

"Hey, boy! What the hell are you d-"

"Princess Yuri, please, let him go. Don't forget I am the guardian here. But, you'll see what I mean to show you if he's as strong as I think he is."

Yuri clenched her fists in rage and responded, "Dammit! I'm sorry, Mr. Headon. It's just that I don't think this one can defeat all those eels! Although I feel that 'unusual strength' that the irregulars have coming from him, he's just not ready yet. I don't think he'll be as lucky as Bam."

Yuri continued mulling over the situation until she heard Evan say something that immediately sparked her interest.

"Princess, you're not searching deep enough. I don't know if it's because I'm a guide, but compared to a few seconds ago, I think that boy has gotten...stronger. He has an incredibly unnatural feeling about him and I just can't understand it."

"What? He's gotten stronger? Is it some sort of strengthening skill?"

"No princess, he's not using anything as far as I can tell. There it is again! Although it's not by much, that unnatural feeling got stronger!"

"Evan...can you see his path?"

A bead of sweat rolled down his face as he stared at Erik walking through the bars.

"No. It feels like I'm looking at another version of King Jahad."

Yuri's worries seemed to have disappeared completely and were replaced by deep curiosity. If one of the best guides in the tower, Evan, gave the boy such a high evaluation, what else did she need to hear?

"Wait! Boy, you never gave us your name!"

With one foot through the bars, Erik looked back and said with a confident smile on his face, "Call me Jaeger. Erik Von Jaeger."
