* the desert boy Karim is a poor boy who has just been sent by his parents to work and living under the family of a textile merchant because Karim's family lives in difficult situations and has to take care and adopt another of his five siblings at home. therefore his parents cannot help him continue his studies. He came to stay under the house of this wealthy family that he has to do work regularly, he has to clean the yard of the house and go help other work before going to school. on weekends go to the delivery of goods to the port by camels. the landlord allows him to go to school with their son and provide him with enough food and a place to sleep. before he leave, the boy's father gave the cow his last property to his son as a guarantee to pay for his studies. Each morning and evening, the Karim boy recites his religious scriptures.
* Today the owner told the boy to take the remaining fabric and sell it in the market. Because the fabric left over from the shipment is of high quality, may be auctioned again in the market. but Karim Boy thinks it is a very hot season, even good quality fabrics are hard to sell. Because these fabrics have thick fabric to be used only in cold weather. karim boy walks alongside the camel carrying the fabrics and thinks to sell these fabrics as soon as possible. As he approached the market, he saw a calf and a baby elephant sold by its owner exchanging fabric at store sale fabric. The owner of the fabric store shook his head in denial because his store had a lot of fabrics stacked on top of each other that cannot sell. karim boy goes to other stores to sell all of his fabric as ordered by the owner. But all the stores refused to buy his fabric. He decided to go home with a sad face. Then he remembered that he would trade this fabric with the man with the calf and baby elephant. then he takes the money he sells his cow a few days ago to his landlord. Moreover his landlord did not set the price for sell.
* because he doesn't have the money like he used to, he has to keep his low working salary to pay for the tuition fees. neither can he eat delicious and snack like before. but he's so happy to take care of his new calf and baby elephant. day after day, his animals is growing. He was sit alone near his animals and his owner's camel. suddenly his elephant rolled back the watermelon he had given him . He received its as gifts from his landlord. he felt that his elephant wanted to cheer him up, when he takes along breathe and express his feelings to his animals. He said that " I want to have money and come home to live with my parents. it's so hard for me to work and study at the same time. " his animals and the owner's camel seem to understand his language makes them sad like him. suddenly he looks at the watermelon's seed on his hand and he has ideas, if he grows watermelon and sells it with owner's fabric at the port, it will bring in a lot of money because watermelon has higher prices in desert areas. His elephant will carry a heavier watermelon, he take cow's feces to fertilizer to settle the land near the river to make farm watermelon.
* He decided to discuss the ideas with the landlord's son. the landlord's son encouraging him to do what he wants to do and by setting clear goals, it's best to do it. " Even if it seems impossible, you must be determined to do it with patience. Bite more than you can chew. " Boy Karim, after listening to the landlord's son, decided to drop out of school and use his time at home to cultivate his own watermelon farm. Despite many failures, he ultimately succeeded. The owner when saw the boy Karim was respectful and persevering, he taught the boy how to do business. Over the years, his business has been successful, opening a shop for himself and accepting his parents and siblings to live more affluent lives. In particular, he bought back his father's cows and bought many more. He brings his elephants back free in the forest. His owner also gave him a gift of a camel that always stayed with him before he returned home. From then on, his family lived happily and was one of the favorites of the villagers.
