Chapter 3: Corridors of Death

Jayce

It's been a couple of days in the underground death trap, well that's what some of us call it. Thank Sira for that one. At the beginning a kid called Luther had some armor, and handed it all out to our classmates. The armour is breathable, although it's not comfortable. We have been walking for a while, so we are about to set up camp for a bit. Everyone exchanged hands, we even befriended a guy named Clark Morlian. He had a good sense of humor. Clark had all the camping gear. So it seems that we all have specific supplies for everyone. At the beginning of the trials I was given a bag full of medic supplies. I'm not sure why I was given this bag. I could barely use a bandage. I looked over and to see Sira, Jacob,Luther, and Clark sitting by one of the nearby fires.

"Jayce, come over here!" Sira yelled.

I walked over to sit with them. We started talking about our childhood homes, except for Jacob. Time passed and everyone was asleep, but not me. I'm still sitting by the fire. I wonder how long we are going to be down here, in the tunnels. I'm not sure how, but I am still able to tell time down here. While I'm looking down at the fire I heard footsteps. I turned around, but nothing was there. I looked over to my friends and the rest of our group, and they all were asleep. I turned back to the fire. Maybe I'm just tired. I went to sleep hoping I would feel better when I woke up.

I was in the dungeon again. It was cold, and there was something moving in the dark. The floor is cold and damp. How much longer will I be here."Why am I even here? It's just a dream, I'm sure of it. Maybe if I just go down one of the tunnels." I started to walk down the corridor right in front of me. I start to see a faint light, like the sun is dimming and reigniting again. I got closer to the door. As I placed my hand on the door knocker, the floor underneath me started to dissolve.

I opened my eyes. I looked around and everyone was gone. All the equipment was missing as well. I started standing, and all of a sudden the wind was knocked out of me and I was on the ground. I looked around and Sira pulled me behind a rock.

I started to say," What is go--" She put her hand on my mouth.

She looked worried and tried to whisper," Be quiet." She then removed her hand.

"Where is Jacob?" I whispered.

"I'll tell you later. We have to hide." She grabbed my wrist and started running down a corridor.

We started running. As we were running, I saw a door. I slowed down, and pulled Sira behind it. We crouched down to hide. A shadow is slowly appearing. It seems to belong to a large, spiked reptile with wings. A noise came from the direction the reptile came from. It looks back, and stops for a second. Another sound comes from the area again. The reptile starts running back.

"Uhm Jayce…" She said, while poking my shoulder.

I slowly turned around to see hundreds of red eyes looking down on us,"Run!!!"

We slammed the door and started running down a hall lit with blue torches. Spiders were flooding out behind us. Under the flood you could see a blue tint. While I was looking at the creatures Sira pulled me to a sharp corner. We kept running. Something emerged from the spider and started chasing us. I turned to get a look at the monster. It was gone. I could tell someone, or something was trying to play tricks. I pulled Sira to stop.

"Why are you stopping? We have to go!", She said out of breath.

"Look", There wasn't anything there. "There isn't anything there."

We were both confused. We set up with what we hwd AWD Aad. We checked for bruises and any sign of an attacker. We didn't see anything. Even though the walls were dimly lit by the blue fire, I could see the carving on the walls. They look similar to the door I was behind before we entered. I could make it out easier now. I started looking at them. I can feel a small button sized winged creature. It was small, but the people in the carving held spears, swords, arrows, and even maces. I can't understand why they need all of those weapons for such a small creature.

"I don't want to know what that creature is." Sira said "I want to get back to the group soon.We don't need to be that things next meal."

I nodded. I wonder how long we will be down here. I opened my eyes after we slept, and started packing. Sira packed some things as well, but she kept looking around for the torch's lights. I think she was hoping the group would come this way. I hope she doesn't over react to our situation. We headed through a couple of corridors. Nothing seemed to happen, until we saw a bright flare on the other side of a door. We burst through the door, and we saw a monster covered in ice. The group was walking away.

"Jacob!" Sira shouted.

Jacob stopped, and he slowly turned around mystified by what he had just heard. Clark seemed to hear us as well, but he seemed injured. Sira and I ran over to them. We discussed how we were separated and caught up to the group. Turns out the group had a couple of challenges themselves. For instance Clark got his leg cut. I wish I could've given them some of the supplies I had.

The group stopped near a clean water source to restock on supplies. Some of them were hoping to catch some fish. I was able to lend Clark some supplies for his leg. I grabbed a scoop of fresh water so we could clean his leg, and check for infection, luckily there wasn't any.
