Chapter 2: 1 fluff x reader
--thought i should start this off with some nice fluff, ill get into the almost desperately needed smut, but for now, we start with something wholesome :)) this is technically an easter special even tho easter already passed, but i wanted to do a cute easter idea so shush. also, this was supposed to be modern, but i don't really like writing modern most of the time, so yeah it takes place in the Shi No Numa(swamp of death) map!--

Your perfect idea of easter was a nice little party with family and close friends, lounging around and eating while the kids hunt eggs in the back yard. Even having to laugh as your dad cracks a few horrible puns- god how you wanted to go back to that. But instead, you were stuck with four racially diverse dickheads: Dempsey, Takeo, Richtofen, and Nikolai.
You have gotten used to them by now, more than used to them- you actually liked them. Especially takeo, he was actually quite rude at first- quiet, but rude. But you managed to knock down his defenses, the others often tease you two about how close you are- but it doesn't bother you. You know they are just jealous that tak knows more about you than they ever will- he also knows how much you love easter, and your assuming- no, hoping, that's why he's been missing all day. You hope he's just planning some big surprise.
Right now you were with richtofen, trudging through the muddy waters to look for a perk-a-cola or a mystery box. It wasn't silent, but you two weren't talking- the doctor was just mumbling to himself. Eventually, you decided to break the awkward feeling "Eddie..?" you sigh as he stopped to look at you "ja, y/n? what is it?"
You hesitated, watching richtofens body language. The fact that he seemed so relaxed honestly calmed you down- he had that weird thing to him, even though he wasn't your favorite he still made you feel safe just by how he acted. "Have you seen tak around here? the others haven't seen him and I'm getting worried-"
"Oh i spoke with him this morning- takeo is fine. or is it ta-ki-o? I've never asked-" He chuckled, smiling at you. You returned the smile "it's tak-ee-o i think. that's how he says it doc, but thank you- i wonder what he's up to" you shake your head and sigh. Richtofen giggled and just grinned, you shoot him a playful frown and trudge off to find a dryer spot to sit since you couldn't find anything else around.

Most of the day had gone by now, you were sitting alone by the water just staring at it. you haven't seen takeo at all and you were really getting nervous- but you trusted him to return.
As you stared at your own warped reflection in the murky water you almost zoned out, head resting in your hands as you stared blankly, you almost didn't notice the squish of footsteps through the mud behind you.
once you did you spun around, weapon in hand Incase it was another hellish beast, but it was just takeo.
he looked rough, well- to put it lightly. his clothes were dirtier than usual, his hair was a wreck, and what was probably blood smeared his face and arms- but he held a little stuffed bunny, or what you thought was a bunny at least, it was incredibly poorly made, covered in holes, and smelled like death.
you were pretty sure the simple existance of that stuffed animal broke at least one law, but that didn't seem to matter to takeo. he smiled a little and put his hands up "y/n, easy- i am no zombie-"
You stared for a moment then put your weapon away, laughing a little at his frizzled appearance- "sorry- you just- don't look like you? what is that-" you motioned to the decrepit plush in his hand, he looked a little embarrassed and looked away for a second "ah i tried to make you something- easter is about rabbits, hai? i wanted to give you an Easter gift! I'm sorry i was gone so long, i couldn't find what i needed-"
Him saying that reminded you how worried you were the whole day, you paused for a second, wanting to be mad- but his nervous smile made it so hard, he never smiled around the others, but with you he never stopped- you sighed and went to give him a hug "tak, you didn't have to do that, we could have just spent Easter together you goof-" you take the stuffed bunny from his hands, it wasn't pleasant in any way, it would probably make better fire fuel than anything else, but you held it to your chest anyways.
"but- i really like it, it's adorable." you chuckled and look up at takeo, you could almost make out the pink in his cheeks, or maybe that was just the dirt and blood. You thought about it a moment until he cleared his throat, taking you from your thoughts, you had been staring. "did you hear me, y/n?"
There it was again, that nervous smile- you smiled back and shook your head, before you could apologize takeo spoke again. "i said it is adorable, like you- well, adorable is not the best word now that i think about it, pretty feels better-" he watched your face for a moment, a hint of fear in his eyes.
was be really comparing you to this crusty rabbit doll? damn. ouch. oh well, at least he's trying, and you found that nice enough, you sighed but smiled "tak, i- okay, can i say something really stupid? well- do something kind of stupid-" you squeezed the rabbit in your hand, the fabric scratching at your fingers. Takeo tilted his head a little, before he could say anything you leaned forward to kiss him.
It wasn't too incredibly romantic, you noted, you both were ankle deep in swamp water and you both looked like plagued rats having a really bad day, but it was still a kiss, a kiss you both enjoyed. He jolted against your touch when you first leaned in, but quickly returned the kiss, hesitantly putting his hands on your waist. he didn't hold on very hard, it was like he scared you'd yell at him for touching you.
you chuckled as you pulled away, wrapping your arms around his waist, sandwiching the bunny between both of you accidentally, takeo fumbled to find his words, he was definitely blushing now- you could see it through the dirt this time. "i- i don't think I'd necessarily call that stupid, y/n-"
you shook your head and smiled, kissing his cheek "an 'i love you' would have been a better response, but alright-" you gently squeezed him, resting your head against his chest, he squeezed back, hesitantly resting his head against yours "oh- i- i love you-" he chuckled but it was Shakey, it was cute.
a mumble was the only response you gave him, something along the lines of 'love you too, monkeybomb' you weren't quite sure if takeo heard you, but it didn't matter. after that you both just held each other in silence, barely rocking side to side in his arms, after a moment he pulled his head away from yours, lifting your chin a little before kissing your nose, smiling.
"Happy Easter, y/n."
