Rhea couldn't help gawking at him in disbelief. He not only treated her like a child, he even went ahead and forgave a scenario that never will happen in their life. To her, his reasoning sounded like some excuses. She couldn't think of anything else but this. He didn't love her. He didn't want to hurt her by saying this directly. So he was using her age as an excuse. Otherwise, none of his reasoning made sense.
At last, she had to reluctantly let this matter slide. She felt that it would be a shame to inquire him more about this after realizing his disinterest in her. He too didn't speak afterwards.
The car reached the suburbs at around half-passed nine. As soon as the car stopped, Rhea barged out of the car and almost ran to her room, as if she was escaping the awkward air between them.
She could only breathe once she closed her bedroom door behind her.
