Chapter 29: The Shift on the Battlefield

Boom!

A harsh sound tore through the air, immediately followed by the appearance of a massive figure!

Hisagi's pupils suddenly contracted, and he immediately noticed something strange behind him. His lower limbs instantly shifted from stillness to motion. The moment he turned sideways to dodge, the sword's light slashed upward like lightning, and flames fiercely erupted, causing half the space to be split in two!

Immediately after, countless figures were incinerated, leaving nothing but ashes.

Hisagi squinted his eyes and seized the opportunity to bend his knees and jump, distancing himself as he leaped onto a mountain of containers.

As soon as he steadied himself, he immediately looked at his clothes, which had been torn. Soon, he saw the aliens who called themselves Serpos beginning to move in his direction to attack him.

These creatures seemed to control physical objects with the power of their minds, something Hisagi was familiar with, knowing what such power could do if it were strong enough.

The moment he saw them, Hisagi understood what they were after.

Judging by the shape of their bodies and their technological instruments, it was easy to guess that they were here kidnapping women to use them as incubators to reproduce their species.

He didn't know how these things had advanced so far without being noticed by anyone else but him, but now that he knew of their existence, he would take it upon himself to eliminate them all.

Rrrr!

Around him, the cursed spirits were approaching, all of them flailing in their desire to destroy Hisagi, who had destroyed the cursed coin that would have forced all the surrounding spirits to come to him unable to resist.

But Hisagi showed little emotion. He first glanced around unconsciously: what he saw was an enormous battlefield where the cursed spirits were furiously fighting every living being in the area, including the Serpos, who were trying to kill the human intruder who had slaughtered many of their kin.

The unknown is always the most terrifying.

He didn't want to be attacked at a critical moment and end up falling short, so he first took a moment to assess the battlefield.

"A sorcerer..." At that moment, a voice as thick as that of a powerful beast sounded, and soon a cursed spirit appeared near the combat zone.

Its bloated body pushed containers aside one after another as it continued to approach amid the constant roars of the other cursed spirits slaughtering the Serpos. Finally, it stopped about twenty meters in front of Hisagi.

The throat covered in layers of arms vibrated, and that cursed spirit emitted human words: "Human sorcerer, you will not escape this place alive."

As it spoke, four dark green arms simultaneously extended four bright red index fingers, stretching out like fists toward where Hisagi stood. The strange, twisted tone seemed to say that this thing was willing to do anything to kill him, and worst of all, it was stronger than the others.

Hisagi ignored it, frowned, and remained silent for a moment. His eyes gleamed slightly, and suddenly he looked around in a calm tone and said, "Stop hiding and show yourself to me now."

The figure in the darkness felt a sensation akin to what could be described as fear, and a flash of brutality burst in its eyes.

How had that sorcerer noticed it?

The strange thing was that the figure in the darkness had never been revealed, but Hisagi had identified it even before analyzing his target.

He was already certain that there were cursed spirits nearby that were incredibly strong. If they were grade 1, it would be an understatement to call them weak, so Hisagi knew that some of them were definitely special grade.

"Hmph, you're not coming out?" Hisagi pursed his lips, and his eyes sharpened in the next moment.

"If you won't come out, I'll force you out!"

A fierce light flashed in Hisagi's eyes, and without even using his sword, he moved.

In an instant, an aura of brutality erupted! The broad waves of air instantly made the surrounding containers creak and sent a wave of deathly pressure towards both the Serpos and the low-ranking cursed spirits!

Hisagi's hand reached into the darkness and grabbed the neck of that cursed spirit still hidden.

Boom!

A black figure shot out, crossing nearly twenty meters in the blink of an eye!

In the horrified gaze of the cursed spirit with the silhouette of an old man with horns on his withered head, the sensation of surrender was evident!

The stench of rotten blood splattered around like fireworks bursting into the air!

But Hisagi didn't even slow down!

What the hell? Aren't these the young sorcerers that aren't supposed to be worth worrying about?

But in his world, there was no time for fear, so the cursed spirit screeched in a hoarse voice, "You'll die if you kill me now."

Damn it, damn it, damn it!

How could he die here?

"If you kill me, everything will be over for you, damned sorcerer."

The cursed spirit feared being killed for some reason. Its screams were sharp and terrifying—under the threat of death, the fear that had been suppressed in its soul was clearly revealed!

Boom!

The ground split open for at least a kilometer, and when the smoke and dust were swept away by the waves of air, a punch that had impacted the cursed spirit's head completely destroyed half of its body, leaving its corpse lying there.

"Was it that easy to kill it?" Hisagi had attacked for a reason, and that was because that cursed spirit had given him an urgent feeling that he needed to be eliminated.

But at that moment, the earth seemed to tremble, and the cursed spirit's body began to release cursed energy at truly terrifying levels.

Hisagi's calm expression drastically changed as he saw how that thing was taking on a new form after he had practically killed it.
