Chapter 15: Chapter 13

The sound of slow, deliberate clapping echoed through the desolate landscape, drawing Kamo's attention. Emerging from the rubble, his body covered in angry 4th-degree red burns that were rapidly healing and without a leg, stood Ryomen Sukuna. A twisted smile played across the cursed spirit's lips as he regarded the exhausted young sorcerer.

"Impressive, brat," Sukuna purred, his voice dripping with condescension. "I must admit, that attack was something." He rolled his shoulders, the charred flesh knitting itself back together and his missing leg regrowing with unsettling speed.

Kamo's eyes widened in dismay as he watched Sukuna's injuries disappear. 'Fucking reverse curse technique and all its bullshitery'. He had hoped his devastating attack would be enough to put an end to this battle, but now it seemed Sukuna was only toying with him.

"How...how are you still standing?" Kamo rasped, his voice strained with disbelief and a hint of fear.

Sukuna's twisted smile widened as he observed Kamo's stunned expression. "You're a sharp one, aren't you?" the cursed spirit mused, his voice dripping with amusement. "You knew that attack of yours could level this entire neighborhood, so you angled it at the sky."

Kamo gritted his teeth, frustrated that Sukuna had seen through his intentions. "I may be a selfish bastard, but I'm not a monster," he spat. "I wasn't about to destroy half the city just to take you down."

Sukuna chuckled, his eyes gleaming with a twisted delight. "And therein lies your weakness, boy. If you had unleashed that attack at full force, you might have actually had a chance of winning."

Kamo's eyes narrowed as Sukuna's words sank in. The cursed spirit was right - if he had gone all out, the outcome of their battle might have been different.

"But you didn't," Sukuna continued, his tone condescending. "And that hesitation to do whatever it takes is why you are so weak."

"Even if you didn't face the full brunt of my attack, you shouldn't have survived it in this weakened, two-fingered state," Kamo said, his eyes narrowing as he glared at Sukuna with undisguised hatred.

The cursed spirit raised his hand, and Kamo watched in horror as fire came alive on Sukuna's hand. "You see, in that moment, I was able to make a binding vow. I sacrificed my leg in exchange for strengthening the rest of my body."

Sukuna's twisted smile widened as he pulled the fire in his hand, shaping it into a glowing arrow. With a swift motion, he released the projectile, the scorching arrow hurtling straight towards Kamo.

Kamo's eyes widened in horror as he watched the searing arrow of fire race towards him. His body, already battered and exhausted from their intense battle, felt the touch of death upon his heart. He braced himself for the impact, knowing that he might not have the strength to withstand Sukuna's devastating attack.

The fiery arrow streaked through the air, its trail of flames leaving a searing afterimage in Kamo's vision. As the projectile closed in, Kamo's mind raced, desperately searching for a way to defend himself. But his body, wracked with fatigue, refused to respond with the speed and agility he had displayed earlier.

In that moment, time seemed to slow down for Kamo. He could feel the heat of the approaching arrow, the scorching air searing his skin. His heart pounded in his chest, the adrenaline coursing through his veins, as he steeled himself for the inevitable impact.

As death itself touched his heart, Kagura felt something deep within him break free. He felt something ancient awaken, a primal power stirring to life within his very being.

Suddenly, different symbols of fire began to manifest around him, coalescing into a talisman on the ground from his fire, the flickering flames casting an eerie glow across his features.

Kamo claps his hands, focusing his energy as he calls upon a technique that hasn't been used in more than 1000 years.

"Jigoku no Fenikkusu!" Kamo declares, the words resonating with an ancient power. From the talisman emerges a magnificent phoenix, its body wrought from crimson blood. The bloody creature sweeps around Kamo, its wings enveloping him as a connection is formed between the sorcerer and the phoenix.

The arrow struck the phoenix's outstretched wings, the impact causing a deafening explosion. Flames roared to life, consuming the phoenix's body in a brilliant display of destruction. Kamo shielded his eyes as the intense heat washed over him, the force of the blast sending him tumbling across the debris-strewn ground.

The attack was so powerful that it consumed the entire detention center and a large area surrounding it. The flames roared so high that they shattered the curtain that Ijichi had dropped, which already had a gaping hole due to Kamo's previous attack. The sheer intensity of the explosion had devastated the scene, leaving behind a trail of destruction in its wake.

As the dust settled, Kamo looked up to see the phoenix's crumbling form, its once-bloodied feathers now charred and blackened. The creature let out a haunting cry, its voice echoing through the devastated landscape, before collapsing to the ground, its life force extinguished.

Kamo stared in disbelief, his body trembling with a mix of exhaustion and the weight of what he had just witnessed. He saw the mysterious creature crumble in front of him, yet could feel the connection with it still alive.

Sukuna's lips curled into a smug grin as he surveyed the charred remains of the phoenix before him. "Ah, color me surprised," he mused, his deep voice dripping with condescension. "I didn't think I would have the pleasure of witnessing the invincible phoenix of legends today."

Kamo's heart raced as he watched Sukuna's wounds completely heal, the King of Curses power seemingly limitless. A tinge of fear crept into Kamo's mind as he realized his own curse energy was running dangerously low, the earlier confrontation with the phoenix having drained him significantly.

Kamo gritted his teeth, his body battered and his curse energy depleted, but the determination burning in his eyes refused to be extinguished. Summoning the last vestiges of his strength, he assumed a familiar stance - one the body he inhabited now had already learned.

Placing his right hand on the hilt of an imaginary sword, Kamo concentrated his remaining curse energy, channeling it into the space around him. Suddenly, a shimmering barrier materialized, encasing both him and Sukuna within its confines.

Okay guys to let people understand what just happened. I hope you guys remember the flashback where kagura goes to meet the clan head and even learns about a tablet but the jutsu ran out of chakra. well I was trying to foreshadow this that there is something mysterious about the Kamo clan and kagura even with the something more within me shit.

Do tell me how you guys feel about it

THIS IS NOT A DIFFERENT CURSE TECHNIQUE but is something I cooked up to make the the big three clans a bit more balanced as blood manipulation as far as we have seen caps at grade 1 from what we have seen. So I decided to explore it and add something which would have the kamo's ancient vengeful spirit as powerful as Sugawara michizane .

This arc is almost over and will finish in the next chapter. There will be some chapters of a little slice of life content to build up the next arc.

The focus will in the slice of life chapters would be to build on romance and this is kinda necessary for plot to move that's why it's here.

Do tell me though that how many chapters of romance you guys want before the next arc
