The local army general seemed to be relentless in attacking the Hulk. Jack didn't understand what the general was thinking. If not even a nuclear bomb could kill the Hulk, it was obvious that bullets and missiles wouldn't even hurt him.
Jack watched as a tank approached and fired some shots at the Hulk, which made him angry. He lifted the tank and threw it at the army, probably killing several people. This made the soldiers even more afraid.
Jack knew that even a light tank should weigh more than 40 tons, and this didn't look like a light tank. This showed the huge strength difference between Jack and the Hulk. At the current rate, it would take another 15 years for Jack to be able to lift a tank like that.
The general was also scared, but he continued to order the army to attack. However, the soldiers were too scared to obey. Realizing this, the general, who knew he couldn't punish the small Ethiopian army for insubordination, decided to retreat.
It seemed that Bruce Banner still had some control over the transformed Hulk, or the Hulk in this universe was very calm because the Hulk didn't pursue the army and began to flee at high speed without looking back.
Jack used the Raiton Chakura Mōdo to increase his speed. Only then could he pursue the Hulk's speed without flying, Jack knew that some armies around the world were observing the places where the Hulk appeared with their satellites to see what they could attack.
So Jack couldn't risk flying like he did to get to Ethiopia. He continued to follow the Hulk for some time and saw that the Hulk was no longer running after passing through a country.
After a while, the Hulk began to calm down and sat on the ground. Jack found it interesting to see this. After a while, the Hulk calmed down and turned back into Bruce Banner. Bruce seemed confused and looked around, seeing only desert around him.
"Damn it, Hulk, you didn't have to bring me to the middle of nowhere. Now it's going to take hours for me to find a city, and I'm almost out of clothes," Bruce complained out loud to the Hulk. It seemed like Bruce had a habit of talking to the Hulk this way.
Jack saw this and decided it was time for him to meet Bruce Banner. Satellites couldn't reach this place to see clearly, and S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't keeping an eye on the Hulk anymore and was probably talking to the army before finding Bruce Banner.
Jack approached calmly and had to wait a while until Bruce could realize he wasn't alone in this desert. Bruce wasn't afraid, he had tried to kill himself a few times before, he was just curious.
"Dr. Bruce Banner, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Jack Shaw, I'm a big fan of you and the Hulk too," said Jack. He knew that Bruce was intelligent and naturally knew that Jack was following him.
"You were following the Hulk? How did you manage to follow the Hulk without using a car?" Bruce asked, curious.
"Dr. Banner, the Hulk is not the only one with powers on Earth. The Doctor may not know me because he tries to stay away from the internet, but I'm a new hero that has emerged on Earth in recent years," said Jack.
"So, you're not from the government? Why risk following the Hulk then?" asked Bruce, still curious.
"Because I'm not looking for the Hulk, I'm looking for you, Dr. Banner. But you can hide very well when you want to, so I had to wait for years until you transformed to find you," said Jack with sincerity.
"What do you want with me? I won't allow you to try to get my blood. I won't do that again, and being with me means always being in danger of encountering the Hulk," said Bruce.
"Dr. Banner, I really admire you. You managed to stay for years without getting angry and turning into the Hulk. I can't even go two months without getting angry, but I'm not really afraid of the Hulk, I just don't have any interest in fighting someone who can kill me and is immortal," said Jack.
"I know the Doctor has been traveling to various countries in recent years and always tries to avoid places where the government can find you and where there are many people you can harm when you transform into the Hulk."
"But the Doctor knows that in these places, people are not always good, and those with bad intentions against the Hulk will always exist and use the poorest people to anger you. And even without being paid, these people can still provoke you."
"Furthermore, I'm sorry to say, but the government has been following you for years. You have never really been able to escape the government's surveillance for very long. An agency called S.H.I.E.L.D has always been following the Doctor," said Jack.
Bruce listened to all of this in silence. He knew that Jack was not lying about S.H.I.E.L.D. He had always felt like he was being watched, and he also knew that living in the places where he had been was dangerous for him to transform into the Hulk. In recent years, he had almost lost his patience several times.
"What do you want from me? Why are you saying all of this?" asked Bruce.
"I want to hire you, Dr. Banner. I admire your genius and talent, and I think it's a waste for you to go so many years without being able to do research. By doing this, I will gain a new ally, and I will be able to help a genius like you," said Jack.
"I can't go to a place with many people, I can't go to America using a plane, and I won't research anything related to the Hulk, use my blood, or anything like that," said Bruce.
"Don't worry, Dr. Banner. I have a laboratory in New York where you can work alone without anyone bothering you. You can live in the laboratory, and no one will know that you're there, and no one will try to provoke you. I have a way to take you there without using a plane or flying. The government won't know that you left Africa, so you can research, and live hidden, and I guarantee a great salary as well. I can buy whatever you want," said Jack.
Bruce thought about what Jack was saying. If he was saying all of this, it should be true. After all, it would be easy for Bruce to turn into the Hulk and escape from anywhere. He wanted to live a different life and wanted to be able to research if he could.
