Chapter 2: Chapter Two:Friends and Foes
Valerie.
We have finally been attended to by a tall ,slim but beautiful lady who I came to know as the house mistress.I have been assigned to room A12
and a roommate whose name is Braelynn Cooper.
I am actually glad my room is not too far otherwise I might have gotten sore everyday.As we enter the room, we see a redhead making out with someone I assume is her boyfriend.
Wow,what a wonderful first sight!
Looking behind me, I am actually glad my mother didn't get to see this crap.I bet she would have gone back to the house mistress's' office and demanded I get another room.
That is definitely the last thing I want to happen.
I am not sure whether Sydney is going to let this one slide.But having shot him a look that said
"just let it go" I am sure he is going to be quiet but I will have to talk to him after mom has gone.
The redhead seems unbothered
by the scene.She adjusts her leather skirt and stands up.
"Hey, I am Braelynn.But I prefer you call me Lynn."She smiles and draws me into a huge bear hug.
"Hi I am Valerie."I say after having pulled away from her embrace.
"Well Val,this is Aidan,my boyfriend."
The blonde guy standing awkwardly amongst us brings out his hand for a handshake.
"Hi,I am Aidan."He says with a huge grin .
"Hi."Is all I can say as I wear a fake smile.
They both say hi to my mother and Sydney.I can feel the tension within.I place the boxes we have been carrying onto the small bed at the other end of the room.
"I should get going,"my mother says.
"I will walk you back to the car mom."She says yes and with that we make our way back to the parking lot.
"I don't like the idea of having boys come to your room."My mother finally breaks the silence .
"Don't worry mom, it is not me bringing them in.I will be fine and besides, I doubt she will be in the room so often."
I assure my mother and with only a smile,she let's that issue slide.
Sydney and I both say goodbye and he assures her that he will keep a close watch on me.After all the emotional distress,mom finally makes her way back home.
Seeing Sydney glaring at me makes it clear that he didn't let the issue of Lynn making out with Aidan slide.And with that, he begins arguing.
"Val, I shut my mouth because I didn't want mom to make a scene.But that was not a very good impression of your roommate.Are you sure you are fine with her?'Cause I personally think she may be a bad influence."
"Look,Syd,you of all people know me best.And I believe you know that I can handle myself.Besides, you don't think I am going to let her influence me,or do you?"
"No ,Val, I believe you are a good kid.But college can bring out the worst of people.And having a bad roommate is one of the reasons for this."
"Chill out bro, I can control myself.Don't worry."
"Okay am going to trust you on this but please don't let her influence you."
"Yeah ,yeah.Look who is being a protective brother.I wont let her influence me,okay?I am going to be the most disciplined sister."
Sydney smacks my arm lightly and smiles.And with that, he makes his way back to his dorm.
I also move back to my room and I find Lynn getting ready to go somewhere.
"Wow, the famous Sydney is your brother?"
I am actually surprised by her question.I didn't know Syd is already famous.
"Yeah,but how do you know him?"
"For starter's he is one of the hottest guys on block and he plays soccer.Isn't obvious?He has to be famous."
"Well I don't want to be in the spotlight, so I am going to request you to keep my relationship with him a secret."
"Okay, that's up to you.But people would actually kill to be related to him."
"Well I am lucky am not one of those."
"Anyway, am going to a party tonight,wanna come?"She asks giving me a smile.
"No ,thank you.I am actually not into parties.And besides, I have to get my things ready.But I hope you have a great party."
"Well ,suit yourself.But I hope you know this is college.And in college , people actually have fun."
With that,she picked up her purse and left. I begin getting my things together and by the time I finish I am actually pooped.I decide against taking a shower so I just slide into my pajamas and slide into the thick covers of my bed.

It is five am and I make an effort to get out of bed.I am actually glad I was given a room with a bathroom inside.I think Lynn didn't come back from her party last night because her bed is empty.I pick out my best white high waist jeans and a maroon truckle neck blouse.I then hasten to the bathroom and run a quick shower for myself.
By the time I finish showering and dressing up, I actually have some more time before class begins.I decide to get myself coffee and I am actually glad the coffee shop is right across the school campus.
Right before I get out of my room, Lynn actually comes back from her party.She spent all night there so I am actually not surprised by the way she looks.
Her hair is all messed up and she has dark circles under her eyes indicating she stayed up all night.
"Wow, you are already up?You must really love studying,am I right?"She half laughs and half yawns.
"Yeah, but why did you go partying when you had a school day ahead?"
"Well my dear Val,this is college.
You have to have some fun.And besides, my lessons don't begin till this afternoon.So I am going to take advantage of that and get some sleep."
"If you say so.Anyway I have to get going .See you later."
I finally get out of dorm and I am pleased with the short line at the coffee shop.
I get a medium size coffee without milk.Just as I get out of the coffee shop, a group of boys push their way through the door and one of them runs into me making me drop the cup of coffee in my hand as well as some of my books.
"Shit!Woman would you just watch where you are going?Now look what you have done."He practically yells as he looks at the part of his white T-shirt that now has coffee spilled over it.
"Excuse me!!What the heck do you mean watch where I am going.I was literally on my way out when you and your friends pushed your way through the door.You ran into me not the actual opposite!!"
"Well it was your fault.Now look at me.You are going to have to take my shirt to the laundry and you will have to pay it yourself."
"Huh!! Wow, you must be kidding.Well if that is the case, you are going to get me a new coffee and you are going to get me a new book."I tell the annoying tall dark-haired boy and kneel down to pick up my books and try to wipe off coffee from one of them.
He smirks and then turns away and comes back with a large sized coffee .
"I got you your coffee.I even got you a large size so that you will get rid of your sleep and stop sleep walking during the day."
He smirks again and places the coffee cup into my hands.I am infuriated by this guy but am at a loss of words at the moment.
"So,girl, I got you your coffee.You
are going to have to take my shirt to the laundry."
"Go to hell!!" I spit the words out too quickly.Too quickly that they I am actually surprised myself.I have never talked to anybody like that.
Without waiting for him to say anything else, I gather all my stuff and get out of the coffee shop.
I reach class right before the bell rings.As soon as the bell goes,students begin filling the class and in no time everyone is sitted and ready for the lesson.
At least that's what I assume.
A medium sized woman comes in class.She is clad in a blue dress and red stilettos.
"Good morning everyone.I am Ms.Hawart and I am going to be taking you through Entrepreneurship."
