Cassius's thoughts began to whirl as he whizzed forward with Lilith and cleaved a Lesser Abyssal Demon into dozens of different pieces.

He had already killed too many of them to count in the past hour to put too much importance on them. He simply flashed around, killed everything standing in his way, then moved onto the next horde of Demons.

What rank they were mattered not. After all, every single one of them died on the first slash.

However, it was during one of these murder sprees, conducted in the deepest parts of the ravaged wasteland, that Cassius received a rather unusual system notification.

"Infinite Fuse?" Cassius echoed. "I wonder what the Idle Benefit is now capable of doing…"

Wishing to test out things right away, he pulled up his system interface and scrolled to the 3rd Idle Benefit section, which sat right beside the Item Crafting System Feature. He tapped and dragged the A- Shadow Step Skill, quickly noticing something different this time around.

"Instead of there being one shaking and glowing Skill available to fuse with… All of them are shaking…"

Cassius, unable to believe what he was seeing, decided to tap on the tiny boxes present above each Skill.

After clicking a total of 1200 Shadow/Movement/Agility/Darkness-related Skills, all of which were recently acquired from Silver-ranked, Gold-ranked, Sapphire-ranked, and Ruby-ranked Skill Boxes, he watched them freak the hell out. Keep in mind that a total of 5 new S-Rank Skills had been thrown into the pot, meaning that the resulting Skill would be…

"Ridiculous…"

That was all Cassius could mumble upon glancing at the absurdities presented before him. It might as well have been a cheat code.

"What if… What if I were to combine thousands of Skills of different types…? What would happen?"

No longer able to restrain his curiosity, he spammed the fuse function on several categories of Skills, then proceeded to combine them based on good predicted effects. And by the end of this ludicrous fusing spree that defied everything commonly known by the Awakeners and the Hunters, two Skills appeared from over ten thousand, one of which was just a rewrite.

It was only of the S+ Rank, same as the other S+ Rank Skill, but for some reason, the restrictions on this one were quite substantial. It was ominous, to say the least, almost like the System was steering Cassius away from using it, lest he regret it in the end.

"I guess I will keep the Skill on the backburner for now," said Cassius, his eyes shifting away from that harrowing Skill and back to the first one. "This one, in comparison, seems far less intimidating."

At the exact same moment he said that, what felt like a bomb of information and knowledge exploded inside his mind, causing him to stagger backward. He tried to regain his bearings, but whatever was happening to him prevented that from happening.

It felt like a million fire ants were crawling around on his skin! Like a stampede of elephants rampaging on top of his brain! It was so excruciatingly painful!

A thousand severe migraines would've been a more pleasant thing to experience than what he was experiencing right now!

Suicide passed through his shattered mind several times, yet he fought against those thoughts with his entire being every time they sprouted up. He refused to succumb to the pain! He refused to take the easy way out!

After five minutes.

The dozens of Evomon huddled around their Liege in a protective circle finally saw a change occur in his complexion, prompting the strongest among them, Nyxvoldar, to kneel down and check his pulse. Its shadowy expression fluctuated for a second before returning to normal.

It nodded at the other Evomon, causing them to erupt in loud muffled grunts and cheers.
