Chapter 1: 1-how things ended up this way
When I was 12, a lot of things had changed. I reunited with the one I loved , found out I was adopted, and found out I, along with a few people were supposed to save the world . It was a Saturday. A few people came to our home and said that my parents needed my help and that I was the only hope . From what i understood , I , Alexis lived happily with my parents until my father discovered a portal to what's supposed to be the future and that he never came back . Later , my mom gave me to a few people and went into hiding. I asked about why it was me and how do they know , so they replied saying this : " your mother sends letters every month or so. Last month we received a syringe that is supposed to kill someone for 2 hours and make them live the last 2 hours of their life like it's a dream. We've got tons of proof. It's you whose going to save us ."
I didn't believe them but my so called parents told me it was true. A few days later , i was preparing to leave and go to live in the lab.
This was my first week of school. I had met my old crush . He was just as handsome and kind as when we were little. We were both new to school so we were very close. On my way to the car that will take me there on the day I was moving , I noticed that he was heading the same direction.
It turns out that Shawn's parents were also scientists. They said that they were working with my parents on this project and then they went missing. He was raised in the same place I'm moving to. That morning was the last time I talked to my so called parents. They never bothered to visit or anything. For some reason,I feel like I'm forgetting something.
