Percy sighed and laid it all out for her. "You missed recovering from surgery, going to that advertising conference, Mom and Dad getting back from their research trip, something involving a lot of cheese, and getting a bonded cat and dog pair. Her name is Tilly.

"It wasn't easy, I can tell you that much. I had to break into the hospital in the middle of the night and later get my professor's cooperation to get back into that specific hospital room again later. That's why it took so long."

Percy suddenly stopped talking and bit his lip. Guilt was written all over his face. 

"I'm so sorry, Penny. I wasn't able to stop that woman from trying to take over your life. I didn't want her to mess things up for you and Roman but she took my advice way too seriously and made herself comfortable here."
