Nick's pov.
"Hey Chloe?"
She turns to me and grunts.
"Whatttt?" She folds her arms together.
"Just admit you're happy to see me." I give her a half smile.
"Yeah right." She rolls her eyes, slams her locker shut and walks towards the exit of the school.
"Have you seen Raven today?" I ask and she stops right in her tracks.
I haven't been at ease since I saw her pale face yesterday.
She looked tired and like she could collapse at any moment.
Then I didn't see her today which made me more worried. I at least see her once each day.
"Come to think of it, I haven't." She turns to me. "I haven't seen her all day." She repeats.
"Do you know why she missed school?" I ask again.
"That's the problem. Raven never misses school. And if she did, she'd would have sent me a text. But again, she never misses school."
"Maybe she forgot."
"Or maybe she was kidnapped on her way here." She starts to panic.
I roll my eyes.
"C'mon. You can't seriously think-" I begin to say but then I remember Miles.
Shit.
"Have you seen Miles either?" I ask her, starting to become really worried.
"I saw him during lunch." She states. "But that's not the problem. Hold on, let me call her." She brings out her phone and dials her number.
She holds her phone to her ear for a moment.
"She isn't picking up." She dials her number again.
"Still not picking?" I ask.
"Still not picking." She confirms.
"Everything is fine Chloe. I'm sure she has a good reason for not coming to school."
"Maybe I should go to her house?" She looks at me. "Yeah I should."
"Don't worry. I'll check for you."
In case she isn't there.
I smile at her for her sake.
"You sure? I can-"
"It's fine Chloe. Remember mom needs you home early for her guests."
"But-"
"Go home." I interrupt her. "I'll head over to her house now."
"Okay. Call me when you see her." I nod. "I'll text you her address."
"Okay."
I didn't want her to know I knew her address. Raven doesn't even know I know her address.
"Bye." She waves at me and walks out of the school.
I take a deep breath and I head to my car.
I bring out my phone and I dial a number.
"What's up?" He answers on the third ring.
"Hey can you keep an eye on my sister?"
"Why?"
"I don't want her going to Raven's house." I unlock my car.
"Why? Aren't they best friends or something?"
"Yeah they are, but Raven didn't come to school today and I'm suspecting foul play."
"Miles?" He asks.
"Miles."
"What's her address?" He asks immediately.
"I'll send it to you now. If you see Chloe going anywhere the address, intercept her or call her. Do anything to stop her."
"Sure."
"Thanks Pete." I hang up and immediately, Chloe's message comes in.
I click on the message and I forward it to Peter.
I drop the phone and start the car.
Within minutes, I reach her house and I park my car right in front of it.
I get down and I walk to the front door. I knock once but no one answers.
I knock again but still no response.
"Raven?" I shout.
I walk to one of the windows but the curtain has been drawn, so I can't see a thing.
"Raven?!" I shout again.
I walk back to the door and I try to force it open, but it opens easily.
I gently opened it and I peeked head first.
"Raven? Are you here?" I shout but I'm met with silence.
I then enter fully.
"Rav- shit! Raven!" Just at the foot of the stairs, is Raven's frame on the floor. She's dressed in her uniform and she doesn't seem to be moving.
I rush to her side and kneel beside her.
"Raven? Wake up!" I touch her but her face is cold.
"How long have you been here?" I ask aloud as I carry her.
One hand under her knees, and the other under her neck.
"Raven?" I keep calling her name as I rush to my car.
I managed to open the front seat door and I set her down. I buckle her up.
She still isn't moving, so I check her breathing. It's short and ragged.
Shit.
I close the door and rush to my side.
I start the car and drive straight to the hospital.
