"Don't come any closer!!!" I shout for the thousandth time, but he just keeps laughing.
"You can't do anything Raven." He says through his laughs. "You can't."
"Stay back!" I shout.
He rushes towards me and I use the knife to stab him.
He staggers to the back and falls with a thud.
I look at my hands to see it was stained with blood.
"No, no, no" I start to shake my head. "I didn't mean it. No, no, no, NO!!!!"
...
I wake with a jolt and the first thing that hits me is the terrible headache I had.
I groaned and I rubbed my head slowly. I looked around and I saw some pills and a glass of water on the bedside table.
Not caring what type of drug it was, I popped two pills in my mouth and took a gulp from the water.
I sighed and rested my head back on the pillow and closed my eyes.
Wait!
I open my eyes immediately and I'm first met with a white ceiling.
Shit.
I sat up immediately and saw I was in a grey painted room.
I was sitting on a very comfortable bed which had white covers and very fluffy pillows.
The breeze coming from the curtain was slightly cold and I felt myself shiver.
It looked like the window was opened.
I removed the covers from my body and stepped on the soft carpeted floor and walked to the window.
The window which I thought it was, actually turned to be a balcony.
A freaking balcony!
I stepped out to the city set out in front of me.
It was night already and all I could see was yellow, red and blue lights around which made everywhere beautiful.
I was standing at least on the seventh floor of a building.
I walked back inside since the night air was getting a little too chilly for me.
I saw a slippers by the foot of the bed and wore it. Then I walked to a door and opened it and it led to an en suite bathroom.
I closed it back and walked to the main door. I took in deep breaths before I opened the door, and step out to a hallway.
I didn't know where it led to, but I followed it.
I could hear voices coming from ahead and I gulped.
At the end of the hallway, was a big open room. By the right, you could see a small kitchen, by the left, a living room, and straight forward, the front door.
In living room were three people sitting on different chairs.
There was a large man dressed in black who was sitting on an armchair, a brown haired guy was sitting on a chaise lounge, and Nick was sitting on a sofa.
Neither of them had noticed my presence.
"We have to make sure-" Nick was talking and was interrupted when the large man saw me.
"Boss." He nods to me and they all turn their heads towards my direction.
Boss?
Nick stands up immediately and walks to the me.
"Spitfire, you're awake."
He was already out of his uniform and in a black top and grey sweatpants.
"Um yeah. Um." I looked around. "Where am I?" I ask him.
I was starting to feel dizzy. It may have been the pills I took not long ago. I think they are starting to take effect.
"This is my apartment." He says.
Your what?
"I'm sorry?"
"My apartment." He says again.
"Your apartment?" I ask again and he nods.
"Yes. My apartment." He repeats.
Yeah, I need to sit.
I walked past him to sit but instead, the brown haired guy was in front of me.
He stretches out his hand.
"Hi, I'm Peter."
He gives me a wide smile and his brown eyes lights up.
"So you're Peter." I state.
"You must have heard a lot about me." He runs his hand through his brown curly hair. "It's not the first time."
"They weren't good things." I state.
Immediately his smile drops. "What?"
Nick chuckles beside me.
"I'm Raven." I say back. "I'm sorry but I need to sit for a moment."
I walk past him and sit on the sofa.
The large man stands and gives me a little bow.
"Hi." I say awkwardly.
"This is Ross." Nick stands beside him. "He's my man."
"I should get going." Ross speaks up.
"Sure." Nick nods.
"Mind dropping me off at home Ross?" Peter asks him.
"But you drove here Pete." Ross says back.
"And I don't feel like driving back. Help a man here."
"No."
They continue their banter as they walk outside the house.
Nick comes to sit beside me. "How are you feeling?" He asks me and I stare at him.
"Is he dead?" I ask him, ignoring his question.
He stares at me for a moment. "No." He says and I sigh in huge relief.
"Oh thank goodness." I mutter. "I don't know if I could've handled it if I had blood on my hands."
He takes my hand in his. "But don't you think he deserves it?" He asks.
"What?"
"I mean, he tried to touch you. God knows how long he had been planning to touch you." He says.
Right.
Nick doesn't know that's not the first time uncle Mark has touched me.
I look away.
"So you live here all by yourself?" I ask him, changing the subject.
"Yeah."
"Why?" I ask.
"I'm sure Chloe must have told you I'm not in good terms with my dad, so I moved out."
"You rented an apartment?" I ask.
"I bought it."
My head whipped so fast to face him, I thought it would break.
"You what?"
"I don't live on my father's money. Although he pays for my education and school related stuff, others are from my pocket."
"How old are you again?" I ask and he laughs.
"Old enough to be accountable for my money."
Just how rich are you Nicholas?
"Are you hurt anywhere?" He asks.
I shake my head. "I'm fine. Just shaken up that's all."
He nods. "Want some coffee?" He stands and heads to the kitchen.
"I'm fine."
"Are you hungry then?"
"I'm fine. Um what time is it?"
He checks his watch. "A little after ten."
My eyes widen and I stand up immediately.
"I have to get home! I'd be in so much trouble!"
"It's late. You can't go out by this time." He says.
"I have to. Aunt Mary would kill me." I walk to the front door but he stops me.
"Raven it's dark out there. Just stay the night. You can leave tomorrow morning."
"But-"
He holds my hand.
"I already took care of it. Nobody is going to be at your house tonight."
What's that supposed to mean?
I sit back down.
I was about to question his statement but he beat me to it.
"Can I make you a quick dinner or would you like pizza?"
