"Hikari-kun, come with us."
Hikari followed the Sakuramiya sisters to a row of targets.
Archery practice at the Kyudo[1] Club mostly involved, of course, shooting at targets.
Standing before a few unused targets, Sakuramiya Saya handed Hikari a booklet, pointing to one of the targets not far away.
"Hikari-kun, follow the basics in this introductory guide to archery and figure out how to get started."
"Then, you can try shooting at the target."
"For the first few days, new members learn on their own. Once you grasp the basics of Kyudo, we'll guide you further."
With that, the Sakuramiya sisters, not even waiting for Hikari's response, linked arms and turned to leave.
Hikari, knowing the sisters' personalities—how they were intensely attached to one another, showed little interest in men, and even harbored a hint of disdain—didn't say much.
The two sisters, now arm in arm, seemed like a couple in love, inseparable and deeply affectionate.
Though the training area was nearly empty, likely to avoid any association with Hikari, the sisters found a resting room in the Kyudo Club and entered together, hand in hand.
Whatever they were doing in that small room, Hikari couldn't be bothered to guess.
After all, today's purpose was to explore and observe, ensuring there weren't any "blonde bulls" or other troublemakers around.
Since his Pure Love Radar didn't go off, he decided to leave the yuri-flowered pair to their own devices.
A restructured family's sisters, deeply in love with each other, blooming as lilies and inseparably close—Hikari, the Pure Love Warrior, naturally wouldn't interfere.
Once his reconnaissance mission was complete, Hikari decided not to waste time. He shot a few arrows casually before leaving the Kyudo Club.
Apart from being reluctant to linger, another reason for his quick departure was a phone call from his boss.
As he exited the Kyudo Club, Hikari answered the call. "Hello, Principal Rikka? What's the sudden call for?"
The cool and serious voice of Rikka came through the phone. "Yes, I need to inform you of something."
"I notified some of our students yesterday about the appointment of a new mental wellness advisor at Seika Girls' Academy."
"And today, one of them has expressed interest and signed up for a session."
"I've already given her your contact information. She'll likely reach out to you soon. Be ready to meet her at a mutually convenient location."
"Your first task is to guide her mentally and emotionally. Complete this assignment successfully."
"If you succeed with this first task, I'll double your initial bonus of five million yen to ten million."
Hikari replied, "So that means completing this first session gets me a ten-million-yen bonus, right?"
"Alright! I won't let you down, Principal. I'll do my best to provide Seika Girls' Academy students with excellent mental and emotional guidance."
After hanging up, Hikari hurriedly left the Kyudo Club.
He hadn't expected his first assignment to come so soon.
But, it made sense. They had hired him, and leaving him idle would be a waste.
After all, even weapons require regular care to avoid rust.
As he stepped out of the Kyudo Club, Hikari planned to take a bath, change clothes, and prepare for his first part-time counseling session.
However, just as he exited, his expression changed slightly.
———
Meanwhile, back in the Kyudo Club.
After spending some 20-30 minutes in the small room together, the Sakuramiya sisters emerged, still arm in arm.
Their beautiful faces had a faint blush, though what they had been doing inside remained a mystery.
"Sigh, I feel like we barely had any fun. But we do have the responsibility to guide the new recruit, so we can't play around anymore," said Sakuramiya Hinata, sounding displeased.
Sakuramiya Saya agreed. "Yeah, but we've been entrusted with teaching Hikari-kun, so there's no helping it."
"Ugh, I hate teaching others, especially men," Hinata grumbled, clinging to her sister's arm and pressing her ample chest against her. "I just want to be with you, Sis! I love you so much!"
Saya pinched Hinata's cheek playfully and laughed. "Tone it down. If anyone discovers our secret relationship, it'll be troublesome."
Hinata nodded. "I know. Let's just call Hikari-kun over and give him some basic guidance so he doesn't report us to the club president. That would be a hassle."
Saya nodded. "Alright."
Hinata called out, "Hikari-kun? Where are you? How's your practice going? Do you need any help?"
No response.
Saya called out as well, but still, there was no answer.
The sisters exchanged puzzled glances.
Walking a few steps closer, they saw that Hikari's spot now had a bow and the introductory Kyudo manual lying on the ground.
They picked up the items, flipping through the manual briefly. It looked barely touched.
Hinata was upset. "Sis! It seems like Hikari-kun has already left the club. He didn't even look at this manual much."
Saya was equally annoyed. "Yeah, and this bow doesn't seem to have been used much either."
Hinata fumed. "Hikari-kun has no perseverance or commitment. He barely stayed for any time and then left. We rushed out of our room to teach him, and he just up and leaves."
Saya shook her head. "Exactly. Wasting our time like that—it's infuriating."
The two sisters glared at each other, sharing mutual frustration.
From their perspective, Hikari was just a rookie, lucky to have their guidance.
The Sakuramiya sisters were the stars of the club, not only for their skills but also their looks. Plenty of people wanted to approach them, but they only cared for each other.
This was the first time they'd agreed to teach someone, breaking their usual rule.
And Hikari? He stayed for a few minutes, then walked out.
Who wouldn't be mad?
Hinata suddenly pointed to a target nearby. "Sis, look over there!"
Saya glanced over and saw three arrows stuck in the bullseye of a target.
They walked closer, pulling out the arrows.
Hinata exclaimed, "Wow, who shot these? All three hit dead center. Only three marks on the target. That means all three shots were perfect tens."
Saya was equally shocked. "This level of archery is practically professional. It feels like whoever did this is better than us. But I don't remember anyone like this in the club…"
Hinata teased, "Could it be Hikari?"
Saya chuckled. "Don't joke. Hikari is a total novice. He barely understands the basics. There's no way he could shoot like this."
Hinata laughed. "Of course not. I was just kidding. That lazy guy wouldn't have professional-level archery skills."
Saya shrugged. "Probably the president or someone else passing by and shooting for fun. Who knows? Come here, give me a hug."
"Give me a kiss, Sis!"
The sisters embraced again, almost unable to restrain themselves from indulging in their affection right then and there.
———
Elsewhere.
Having left the Kyudo Club, Hikari remained unaware of the sisters' remarks about his casual shots.
He had moved on, preparing for his first counseling task at Seika Girls' Academy.
But as he exited the club, he noticed his Pure Love Radar activating.
His trusty warning crane also reacted.
The signs were clear: somewhere in the school, trouble involving a "blonde bull" was brewing.
Hikari quickly checked his radar and dashed toward the red danger signal on the map.
Counseling for Seika's students could wait—hunting down a troublemaker came first.
After all, helping with emotional health was his job.
But hunting "bulls"? That was his duty.
The baseball club's activity field.
At this moment, since classes had already ended, the baseball club's practice had also concluded.
Therefore, the expansive field was sparsely populated, with only a few figures scattered about.
Akane walked alone on the path, glancing at the messages Katanose Shouya had sent her on her phone.
"Did Katase-kun really think it through?" Akane muttered, staring at the messages on her phone, a hint of doubt still lingering in her eyes.
Just this morning, she had a falling out with Katase Shouya over Coach Togo.
Yet, right after that, Shouya had immediately sent her several messages online.
The general content was that—
He promised her he would no longer associate with Coach Togo.
And, furthermore, he wanted to formally apologize to her for what had happened earlier.
