Chapter 37: Second Level
Olenna looked around her as she sees everyone who participated in the trial celebrating as they feel happy about defeating the Wyvern. Emelia and Saya came and sat beside her and started speaking to her.
Emelia: "Lady Olenna, what now? what are we going to do?".
Saya: "Yeah. Everyone forgot that we're still in the trial and are celebrating. Shouldn't we group them and decide the next plan?".
Olenna smiled and then said, "Little girls, you should understand that our alliance with these people was only temporary so that we can defeat the Wyvern. Now that the common enemy doesn't exist, it's everyone for himself".
Emelia and Saya looked at each other and understood what Olenna meant so they also decided to not care anymore about others and only their team. Emelia took Saya hands after that and said to her, "Come on Saya, we should go and find father so that we can get back together here".
Saya: "Yes young miss".
After that Emelia and Saya left Olenna to go search for Morgan while Alex and Lyssia passed them as they walked away from the Wyvern's body towards Olenna.
Everyone started resting and discussing between themselves about what they're gonna do with the Wyvern body and also about the battle that just ended a few minutes ago. It seemed that everyone wanted to rest before continuing the trial to the next part.
Alex: "That attack was too powerful. what level is he at? Sensing His mana, it shows that he's at the beginner Rank-1 Master warrior but that spell earlier was far more powerful compared to a normal rank 1 transcendent spell. It reached the same level as Lady Olenna spells".
Lyssia: "Yeah, I know. I was surprised about that too. It seems that he must have some secret technique or even having a unique divine ability that can strengthen his spell effects".
After Alex and Lyssia reached where Olenna was resting, they asked her about the reason for the powerful spell. Olenna who heard that shook her head and smiled as she said to both of them, "It's not a divine ability for sure. It must be a magic amplifier and a powerful one for that. It made his rank-1 transcendent magic spell as powerful as a normal rank-3 transcendent magic spell".
Magic spells in the Sarna world are very powerful and complex. They are comparable to the weapon arts warriors use. Mages use both soul power(spiritual energy) and mana as fuel to power their spells.
The spells are classified into three big categories which are Mortal Spells(from Rank 1 to 4) and then comes the Transcendent spells(Rank 1 to 4). Finally comes the Magus spells but there isn't much known about them as only those who reached the Saint level knows about it.
The difference between each spell is the amount of mana and spiritual energy that is used which makes it so that no mage can use a spell that is above his/her rank no matter how they try because they don't have enough mana and spiritual energy but in some cases, this problem can be solved using Magic amplifiers.
Magic amplifiers are a special kind of magical artifact that gives you the power to use spells that are above your rank and sometimes even using spells that are a whole realm above your rank.
There exist three types of magic amplifiers through the world and each one is related to the type of energy it gives. the first one being an amplifier for mana only. the second one is soul energy only amplifier. The third one and the rarest of them all is the magic amplifier for both soul energy and mana at the same time.
Alex: "So you're saying that the prince has this magic amplifier and so he can cast spells above his rank easily?".
Olenna: "Yes. For example, my staff is a magic amplifier that is mana only, specialized for nature magic thanks to the Mana stone embedded in it while the one the prince has is related to fire or lava element. Of course, magic amplifiers as powerful as the one in Prince Williams's hands are very rare. If he wasn't a member of a royal family, I would've robbed him right here and now".
Lyssia: "The amplifier must be of a very high rank then. I wonder why he just showed his powers to us like this. Doesn't he know that if he dies here then no one will know who killed him? No one will fear the retribution from the Lefia family".
Olenna and Alex looked over at Lyssia and both shook their head at her naivety. Olenna then explained to her and said, "If he has a high-rank magical artifact like that, don't you think that he has other artifacts that can help him easily escape or save himself. If he can have magical artifacts like that then he must have some lifesaving artifacts or special talismans".
Lyssia who heard that thought about it for a moment and then felt super embarrassed because she didn't think about it at all. Alex who just sighed became serious again as he said, "What makes me more suspicious is that boy, Saifon divine ability. Did you see how it easily destroyed the skin of the Wyvern?".
Olenna who also remembered that nodded, "I can't believe that such power could exist. It's like the fire from Hell that could burn anything. If it wasn't for his dark fire, Prince Williams attack would've never worked".
Lyssia who thought about something showed a sudden surprise as she remembered something and looked at both of them as she said, "I'm sure that when Melissa told us about him two years ago, she never mentioned him having a divine ability which means that he must have awakened it recently".
Olenna: "Divine abilities awakenings are completely random so it's normal having awakened at an old age. What makes it different is the terrifying vibe it gives when you look at the fire".
Alex: "Well, we can't talk much about it unless he somehow tells us about it. For now, we will just stand and watch".
Lyssia and Olenna agreed with What Alex said and then they got up as they wanted to head towards the Wyvern body to inspect the damage and take any useful parts but before they could do anything, the Wyvern corpse started turning into stone as it returned to its previous state but this time, instead of sculpture, the body looked completely shattered.
Williams saw how the body of the Wyvern became stone and then laughed as everyone noticed him as he laughed, "Hahaha, Seems like Saint Charles doesn't want us to take anything from this trial either".
Olenna also laughed as she didn't think that the Wyvern is fake at all. Other people like Alex shrugged their shoulders as they didn't seem to care too much.
Saya looked at Emelia and said, "I wonder how we're going to reach the second level of the trial. Didn't we kill the Wyvern? the test should've ended by now".
Saya and the other didn't wait too long as while everyone was thinking of how stingy Charles is, the voice of Hu Zhao sounded in their ears as he spoke, "Congratulations on clearing door 42 of the first level. This was one of the hardest tests in the whole second trial so be proud of surviving it. You will be teleported in five minutes back to the second section of the tunnel where you will face the second level".
Hu Zhao's voice disappeared again and they all started waiting again.
Alex: "I hope that the second test won't be so hard. I don't want to slay another beast".
Lyssia: "Hmph, You're saying it as if you did it all by yourself".
Olenna: "I wonder really what Konstantin and the others got in their first test. I hope that he gets a difficult test like ours next time so that he learns his lesson and doesn't separate with us next time and even feel some pain".
Lyssia: "Yeah, I hope that too. They just jumped and left us with this Wyvern difficult task. In fact, I hope they face a dragon hahahaha".
Both Olenna and Lyssia started discussing what they want the others to face and even hoping for the worst. Alex who looked at them thought about it for a moment and then sighed, 'you told all of us to go jump in that door. It's not like it's their fault, right? Women are scary'.

[Second section of the tunnel]
Right now, Konstantin together with Abrat, Wanda, Nolan, and Alexia are all moving in the second section of the tunnel towards the doors of the second level.
Konstantin who was running in the tunnel suddenly felt a shiver running down his spine because of some terrifying aura trying to get him. He looked towards Abrat and Wanda who were also running beside him and said, "Hey, did you feel that?".
Wanda: "..... feel what?".
Abrat: "..."
Nolan: "I didn't feel any spell or any mana around us so everything is okay".
Konstantin: "Yeah, I felt it. It was like having someone trying to do something bad to you but just with their aura".
Wanda: "Sir Konstantin, I think you're imagining things because of the previous test. You should relax, we already passed and can go to the second level".
The moment everyone remembered the first level test, everyone felt some uneasiness because of how disgusting the test was. After they entered door number fifty, they found the other seven people who entered before them and after that, they had to form a team to destroy all the different insects that tried to attack them.
Unfortunately, even with Konstantin and Abrat, they couldn't protect everyone as three people died inside the test and even Alexia got injured. the insects weren't high rank but the many numbers and the fluids they attacked them with made the test quite annoying.
After finishing the test, they came back to the tunnel and continued their way towards the second level. After running for some time, they reached the end and found themselves in front of another fifty doos again.
Konstantin: "What do you think? Should we wait for the others or just go before them. There aren't that many people which means that they are still undergoing the tests of the first level".
Wanda: "We should wait for some time in case they finish and come here but if they take too long then we will just enter a door. What do you think Sir Abrat, Nolan?".
Nolan: "I agree with that. We also need to think about the possibility of a door accepting only one person which will separate us again like before".
Abrat: "...we wait".
Alexia: "Okay".
Konstantin: "Waiting it is then".
Right now only twelve doors have been opened while four already disappeared so it's not over yet and everyone still has a chance. After all, it's only been half an hour since the second trial has started and no winner has been decided yet.
