Chapter 6: Chapter 6 - The strongest Venera of King Merif

Yana pulled away from Qrolo's embrace and stared into his eyes, unable to believe what he was saying.

"You're not telling the truth, right?" Yana asked.

"Everything I'm saying is true." Qrolo insisted.

"Are you saying that there are beings living in the world of dreams and that you are one of them?" Yana questioned further.

Qrolo nodded in affirmation. Yana didn't know whether to believe what he was saying. Qrolo also told her about the mysterious entity that kills in dreams, explaining that it belonged to the Ronoru, the malevolent beings in the dream world.

However, Qrolo couldn't bring himself to tell Yana about the impending opening of the two worlds and the Ronoru's arrival in the human world. He was determined to find a way to prevent it.

"It's unfair. They kill humans in the dream world without any resistance." Yana said after Qrolo explained the creatures in the dream world.

"I will do everything in my power to save the people who are dreaming. That's my duty." Qrolo replied.

Yana had no choice but to believe Qrolo. She could see in his eyes that he was telling the truth.

Meanwhile, the king of the Ronoru, King Merif, ordered his strongest Venera to search for the gateway connecting the dream world to the human world. Venera are the trained warriors of King Merif, honed for battle and to assist in opening the path to the human world.

The strongest Venera was named Riyugi, who traveled with ten other powerful Venera and their troops to find the sealed gateway believed to be in the depths of the ocean, meticulously closed by the power of the Goddess of the Sea.

However, the Goddess of the Sea had passed away centuries ago. Riyugi faced tremendous hardships as various sea monsters attacked their group. Half of his troops were killed by these creatures. Riyugi, possessing the strength akin to a deity, was not a pure Ronoru. His father was a Ronoru who married an Aruha.

Therefore, Riyugi inherited the combined powers of the Ronoru and Aruha. His appearance was human-like, unlike the monstrous Ronoru, due to his Aruha mother.

Riyugi looked human but had fangs, and his eyes turned blue when he used his powers, inherited from his Ronoru father. However, he was regarded as a lowly hybrid and was despised by the Ronoru. King Merif had his parents killed. But the Ronoru's oracle stated that Riyugi had great power, so the king allowed him to live.

A monstrous octopus blocked their path, its tentacles covered in venomous spikes that killed Riyugi's men upon contact. Riyugi and his fellow Venera prepared to fight.

"Let's finish this one. Ready your katanas." Riyugi ordered.

The ten Venera immediately prepared their katana swords. The katanas, or blade swords, could channel and release their powers.

Riyugi possessed the power of the storm of lightning, a formidable electrical charge he could channel through his katana. Hinami, one of the ten Venera, had the power to create a protective barrier around them, shielding them from their own katana's intense power.

"Now, Hinami!" Riyugi shouted.

Hinami swung her katana, releasing her barrier magic that enveloped them.

Riyugi then raised his katana high and brought it down with full force, unleashing his storm of lightning toward the giant octopus. The storm of lightning split the ocean, paralyzing the monstrous octopus.

"Attack!" Riyugi commanded.

The Venera attacked in unison, their katanas glowing with their unique powers. The strength of Riyugi's storm of lightning was nearly uncontrollable, even reaching the sky.

Meanwhile, Qrolo and Yana were on the shore, watching the calm sea when they noticed a swirling vortex enveloped in lightning and electricity.

"Qrolo, what is that?" Yana asked nervously.

"I-I don't know." Qrolo replied, shocked.

The sea grew turbulent, causing large waves. Qrolo grabbed Yana's hand.

"Let's go, something bad is about to happen." Qrolo said, and they left.

They heard the roar of the rushing water. Turning around, they saw a massive tidal wave approaching the land, a colossal tsunami.

"Qrolo, stop the tsunami. Many people might die in this dream. We can't just leave this place." Yana said, worried.

Qrolo realized Yana was right. Escaping wasn't the solution; stopping the tsunami was. As the tsunami approached, Qrolo faced it, raising his hands and summoning a massive barrier of metal, marble, and stone. The barrier rose higher than the wave, and they heard the wave crashing against it.

Yana noticed Qrolo struggling.

"Qrolo, are you okay?" Yana asked, concerned.

"Y-yes, I'm fine." Qrolo replied.

Eventually, the water receded. Qrolo removed the barrier but collapsed to his knees, exhausted.

"Qrolo!" Yana cried, supporting him. She noticed he was pale.

"I'm fine, I think I just overused my powers." Qrolo said.

Then he lost consciousness. Yana panicked, calling out to him.

"Qrolo, wake up!" she cried.

An elderly man approached them; it was Derum.

"Help us, he lost consciousness." Yana pleaded with the old man. Derum looked at Qrolo, then at the sea, shaking his head.

"It has begun." Derum said.

Yana didn't understand his words. She was surprised to see Derum lift Qrolo effortlessly.

"I'll take him to the temple; he needs to rest." Derum said.

"I'll come with you." Yana requested, and Derum nodded. They walked to the temple together.

Meanwhile, the Venera successfully killed the giant octopus. Behind it, they found a golden and marble door, sealed with an unknown energy. Riyugi stepped forward.

"Wait, leader, we need to ensure what kind of energy is sealing that door." Gozu, one of the Venera, cautioned.

Riyugi halted, ordering an ordinary Ronoru warriror to approach the door. The warrior obeyed but began to dissolve upon contact, screaming in agony until he vanished.

"I believe that seal protects the gateway." Ejano, another Venera, remarked.

Riyugi clenched his fists in frustration. They needed a way to break the seal.

"Leader, look at this." Banki called, pointing to an inscription on a large stone. Riyugi examined the writing, but it was in an unknown script.

"This might give us information about the sealed door." Banki added.

"We need to bring a human here to read this inscription." Riyugi stated seriously.

Riyugi understood that only a human could decipher the writing, as it didn't belong to any language of the dream world.
