Introduction

Garud knew that the only way to slay the beast and complete his Master's task was to discover a strength within him that he hadn't made the effort to use.

Inside of his heart, he cried.

Please, obey me just this once! Give me the strength to slay this bea-

[SQUEAK!] (gasp!) (woah-!) A firm hand jostled the chair that he was reading on, startling him.

"WARD." said the man, looking at him with stern eyes.

He snatched the book out of his hand, looked at the cover of the book and angrily shoved it onto Ward's chest.

"Look! If you want to read these childish novels, do it when I'm not paying you! I pay, you work! Understood?"

Ward hurriedly stood up. "ye-Yes, boss!"

"Yeah, yeah. You say, 'Yes, boss.' almost every time... he said, digging around the back of the cluttered stockroom. "Either help the team up front or stock the arrivals on the shelf like you should be doing!"

His boss lifted a box of books and kicked Ward's chair to the floor as he passed by.

He took a brief second to look at his employee and slightly grimaced.

Ward had nothing to say, his boss was a butch, ex-infantry solider, marred through the length of his body with battle wounds. Although his statue was short, he was a driven and intense individual that even Ward felt towered over him.

"Get to WORK, Ward." he emphasized before he slammed the door.

Ward paused for a moment, then shook his body to get rid of the tense-ness.

"(sigh).. why is he so damn loud? You don't need to shout! What kind of librarian SHOUTS in a LIBRA-" (gasp)

Ward palmed his mouth with a surprised look and relaxed himself.

"(sigh).. I need to control that. Anyway...it's all because of my stupid boss."

Ward began to organize the boxes of books that littered the stockroom.

He lifted a heavy load onto his cart and started to arrange them by their numbers.

Looking at the covers, he shook his head and grumbled. "..are these seriously all the same?"

He picked up one of the books.

"'Live your Best Life.'" he said, reading the cover, "written by the inspirational speaker... Will Wetts."

He frowned. "Really? This is what is in demand right now...? A crappy fix-your-self book?" he said, shaking his head and throwing it back into the box.

He sighed, walked over to his chair and grabbed the book he was caught reading and gently spun in his swivel-chair.

He looked at the cover.

[Garud, the forgotten Heir]

"Now, this... this... is a good read." he smiled, turning back to the page where he was interrupted.

Please, obey me just this once! Give me the strength to slay this beast!

Suddenly, from within Garud's body, small, specks of white-gold light projected out.

"Oh!" Garud gasped. "Is this the power that dwelt inside of me? My very own..."

The specks of light began to shape as Garud's words flowed out of his mouth.

"Saber!"

Then, a blinding amount of light poured out of Garud's body, constructing and shaping his weapon.

"Now... for your name. A name that will expell demons! Be/|//\m҉e҉l҉g҉r҉e҉n҉/\/|/|/||/|...

"...."

"...."

Ward squinted at the strange marking.

"what... is that?"

He tried to make out the words.

"Bemelg..? Bemell??"

He furrowed his brow in annoyance.

"Tsk... did someone already damage the book... come on..."

"Ok...." he continued. "A name that will expell the demons...."

Ward squinted his eyes tightly and pressed the book to his face.

"...is it.... Bem..el..gr..een?"
