Chapter 21: Labyrinth of Crete Part - 9

"ROOOOOAAAAAHHH!!!!"

With the loud cry of the minotaur echoing throughout the great hall, Kane and the others prepared for combat.

Kane took two steps back, placing himself behind Rachel and Theo, while Lucius, remembering what he had said during the strategy, pointed out that his abilities were long-range, similar to that of a mage.

"Rachel and Theo move to the sides of the minotaur to attack it from different points. It is now in a frenzy and acting on instinct alone."

Kane began to give instructions while activating his "Replicate" and "Puppeteer" abilities. Several threads as thin as spider silk appeared on his fingers, and his vision became filled with symbols and patterns. Much of his attention was on Theo, as he would finally be able to replicate one of the skills he had long awaited.

Rachel and Theo, following instructions, moved quickly around the room so as not to give the minotaur any chance. The creature watched them furiously, looking at them crazed and foaming at the mouth.

More experienced in combat than Theo, Rachel was the first to launch herself at the minotaur, quickly closing the distance between them. She swung her sword hard at a considerable distance, which clashed against the minotaur's tough skin.

The minotaur reacted instantly, lunging with its powerful body towards Theo, who stood still momentarily.

Seeing the minotaur charging towards him, Theo froze for a second but reacted by jumping to the side. However, he was not fast enough, and the minotaur hit him cleanly with one of its arms.

Theo went flying into the wall, slightly losing consciousness.

Boom!

A noise echoed throughout the room as Theo's body hit the wall.

Spitting blood, Theo quickly pulled a potion from his inventory and drank it desperately.

'Shit, what a fucking pain; why is this fucking creature lunging at me when attacked by that woman?' he thought with a grimace of suffering.

He had barely frozen briefly, and the minotaur hit him squarely. He looked up and saw the minotaur lunging again with another onslaught.

'Shit!'

Theo got up in desperation, enduring the pain that coursed through his entire body. He jumped again, completely dodging the minotaur's lunge and activating one of his unique abilities, which he hadn't used since he was summoned to this world.

...

Kane glanced toward Theo, controlling the fine threads, and a smile formed on his lips as he watched him activate his ability. His sight was filled with symbols and patterns, and he instantly understood the nature of the ability.

Theo's unique ability allows him to slightly manipulate the invisible threads in the "River of Fate." He can alter a person's destiny, causing significant changes in their fate or the direction of their life. For example, he might "weave" a warrior's destiny so that he survives a battle he was destined to lose.

By "weaving" that destiny in which the warrior survives, it can increase the probability of failure or success in an individual.

In addition, it can connect two or more individuals or entities through an invisible bond, allowing them to share emotions and thoughts or even transfer vital energy.

In the gaming community, this feature is called "Web of Connections." With this ability, Theo can heal deep physical or emotional wounds by "reweaving" the threads of a person's life. However, the scars from these patches can leave marks on both body and soul.

Theo's nickname in the game was "Angel of Destiny," in the game world, he was known as the "Hero of Destiny," all because of his incredible ability.

It was an impressive skill but wasted in the game, as the story and scenarios could not be changed simply with a skill.

After a glance, Kane fully understood Theo's unique ability.

Ding!

[You have perfectly understood the "Weaver" ability of people, Theo.]

Ding!

[Conditions met: the unique ability "Replicate" has been activated].

[You have successfully replicated the "Weaver" skill of the target].

[By upgrading the skill "Weaver" 10 times, the skill "Weaver" has become "Chaos Matrix"].

[You have obtained the "Matrix of Chaos" skill.]

Kane looked sideways at the new ability he had just obtained and could not hide his satisfaction. Although it wasn't his expected ability, he was pleased. Besides, he understood what Theo was trying to do by activating his unique ability.

'But, unfortunately, this ability isn't useful in this place.'

...

After activating his skill "Weaver," an imaginary river filled with mercury-colored symbols connected to an endless network of threads appeared before Theo's eyes.

Theo, who knew the function of the skill, had activated it to increase his chances of victory against the minotaur. However, he did not notice that a thick grayish-white fog was blocking the threads of fate.

'What?! Why can't I manipulate the threads of fate?' thought Theo, frowning.

At that moment, the minotaur charged towards him again, but just as it was about to reach him, Rachel appeared from behind and severed the tendons of both legs of the creature, which fell heavily to the ground.

Rachel looked at Theo with an expressionless expression and said:

"What are you doing just standing there? Get up; we can't defeat this monster alone!"

"ROOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!"

The minotaur's furious cry echoed again in the great hall. Even though his hamstrings had been cut cleanly, he tried to get up and threw a mighty punch towards Rachel and Theo.

However, before his fist could make an impact, he froze briefly and began twitching as if his joints were glued together.

The minotaur began to despair as his movements became slower and slower. When he turned sharply, he saw a fireball inches from his face.

Boom!

A loud explosion echoed through the great hall, raising a curtain of dust.

Seeing the cloud of dust, Rachel's eyes flashed briefly, and she lunged toward the minotaur, which seemed about to lose control of its body and become a puppet.

Climbing quickly up the creature's body, Rachel's sword was coated with a colorless energy as she delivered the final blow.

The minotaur staggered, fell to its knees, and was decapitated cleanly as blood gushed from its neck like a fountain, creating a peculiarly beautiful sight before everyone.

'Beautiful~...' thought Theo unconsciously as he watched the blood flow elegantly from the minotaur's neck.
