Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Will Never Forget

Logan

“Oh... yeah... sorry, man,” the man stammered, taking a step back. “I didn’t know she was with anyone.”

The poor bastard darted away before I could ask him if he saw us dancing together. But technically, he was right. We weren’t together. Well, not permanently, anyway. But for tonight, she was mine. My wolf growled his satisfaction deep within my chest. He wanted to claim her wolf as his right then, which was rare. In fact, he had never wanted to claim another wolf before now. But there was a first time for everything.

“So, do you live around here, or are you from out of town?” I took a sip of my beer, curious. I found that the more time I spent with her, the more I wanted to know. Even though she had suggested we stay anonymous, it was a simple enough question that I didn’t think she would object.

She sighed, brushing a strand of her long blonde hair over her shoulder. Actually, it was dark blonde with subtle streaks that fell over her shoulders like water into beautiful waves.

“Okay, Logan, get ahold of yourself. You just met this woman,” I thought to myself, already imagining all the wonderful things I could do with her.

“I’m from here.” She poured the rest of her shot into her Margharita, stirred it up, and took a sip.

So, she was a part of either the Shadowcrest Warriors Pack or the Crystal Grove Pack. But I knew for a fact she wasn’t a part of my Pack, the Skyclaw Guardians. If she was, I would have seen her by now and would have probably already claimed her. It wouldn’t be hard to track her down later, if I really wanted to.

That would be a first. I never went looking for women after one-night stands.

Usually, I had my fun with women, making sure they had a great time, too, and then left them with nothing more than memories, never seeing them again. I hadn’t ever had a permanent relationship before. I mean, what was the point? I guessed I was holding out for my Mate, going through women until I found her.

“So, are you from around here?” the gorgeous blonde asked, her eyes a striking blue, contrasting sharply with her hair. She had an incredible figure, a thin waist, and long, luscious legs.

I sighed, enjoying the view more than I should. “Yes, I am.” I arched an eyebrow, giving her my sexiest smile. “Would you like to know which Pack I’m from?”

She looked out over the dance floor. “Nope!” she said, popping the P, then wrapped her perfect lips around the straw shoved into her Margarita. Suddenly, I wished parts of me were the straw.

I let out a deep breath as I looked away, knowing I had to get this woman out of my head before I did something I regretted, like carting her off to Las Vegas tonight.

“Would you like to get out of here?” I asked, suddenly serious. If she turned me down, I was going to find the first woman I saw and f*ck her senseless.

“Yeah.” Her voice was soft, suddenly shy. Then my heart sank. She was a virgin, and I didn’t do virgins. But coffee wouldn’t hurt. I paid our tabs and placed my hand on her back, motioning with my head toward the door. “Come on. Let’s go.”

She nodded, fishing around in her purse for her money.

“I already paid both of our tabs.” I took her hand and led her through the crowd.

“You didn’t have to do that!” she replied, trying to keep up.

“Why not?” I walked with her past the bouncer and held the door open for her.

Outside, I lifted one shoulder as I took her hand, inhaling the cool night air. Slowly, it started bringing me back to my senses. “Because that’s what men do for women.” I led her to my Lamborghini Countach and leaned her against it, placing one hand on either side of her, preventing her escape. “You are one gorgeous woman.”

A slight blush crept up her cheek, making me want her even more. “You’re pretty handsome yourself.”

I leaned in as my heart pounded against my ribcage, silently seeking acceptance. Finding it, I crushed my lips to hers, and in that instant, my whole world shifted as I took her into my arms. She opened for me, deepening the kiss as she pulled me close to her body, her breasts pushing against my chest as my hard c*ck pressed against her stomach. There was no mistaking what I wanted.

She tilted her head and crushed her lips to mine again. I pulled back for a moment, lifted the door high into the air, swept her into my arms, and placed her gingerly inside the cab. She leaned back and looked good enough to eat. But there was no way I was going to f*ck her in the parking lot for all to see. I wasn’t an animal. Instead, I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers again, running my hand up her leg, but she pulled her legs together, stopping me when I got close to her heat.

Forcing myself to break the kiss, I took a step back and looked into her eyes. “So, would you like to go anywhere in particular?”

“Like where?” she breathed, her eyes half-mast with want, her long lashes framing her perfect eyes as she looked up at me with an equal blend of desire and innocence.

“Anywhere.” It was all I could do to pull away, but I had never taken a woman against her will before in my life, and I wasn’t going to start now. “You have to tell me, baby.”

“Yes.”

My heart stopped. “Yes, what?”

“Yes, I want you.”

My breath caught. That was all I needed to hear. I quickly turned the key, and the engine roared to life. “Buckle up.”

I would have taken her to my place, but I lived in the Pack Compound, and I couldn’t wait that long. I felt like a horny teenager about to lose my sh*t as I drove down the main road, looking for a nice hotel. There was no way I was going to take her to a dive. No, only the best for my lady.

I chuckled, surprised that I was already thinking of her as mine. Not just for tonight but every night. But it was much too soon for that. For one thing, I didn’t want to scare her off. And for another thing, I didn’t want to do something I would later regret, in case she turned out to be some kind of psycho... or married.

My head snapped up. “You’re not married, are you?”

“No!” She scrunched up her nose, looking at me as if I were the last crazy person on Earth. “What made you ask that?”

I let out a deep breath. “No reason. Just thinking too much, I guess.”

I glanced over at her, and she was wringing her hands in her lap, obviously nervous. “Would you like to get something to eat?”

She shook her head and gave me a small smile. “Maybe later.”

I reached over and took her hand in mine, holding it as I drove. Suddenly, my safehouse came to mind. It was a condo, it was close, and it would be perfect. I had a maid come in to clean and keep the refrigerator stocked regularly. “Would you like to go to my place?”

“Sure.” She shrugged. “That’s fine.”

She must have temporarily forgotten her rule of anonymity. Otherwise, she wouldn’t want to know where I lived. Even though it wasn’t really where I lived, it was close enough. She could easily track me down if she wanted to.

But at the moment, I didn’t care. I wanted her, and if she came back for more, then so be it. I pulled up to the gated community and slid in my key card.

The guard stepped out and smiled. “Good evening, mister—”

“Good evening,” I cut him off, not wanting him to tell her my name. It wasn’t that I didn’t want her to know; I just wanted to be the one to tell her, just like I wanted to gain her trust enough for her to tell me hers.

She looked up at the high rise, taking in the white exterior with black trim. I had chosen it for its old-world feel. Actually, I loved it here. It was quiet and where I came when I wanted to escape for a while.

“Wow! Nice.” She glanced over at me and smiled. “You live here?”

I shrugged, returning her smile. “Sometimes.”

She laughed. “Must be nice.”

“So, do you live in your Pack Compound?”

“Uh-uh!” she teased, playfully wagging her finger from side to side. “Not too much info. Remember?”

I laughed. “Well, you saw where I live. Isn’t it fair that I know where you live?”

She shook her head, her smile broadening. “You don’t live here.”

“Sometimes I do.”

She arched an eyebrow, looking at me skeptically. “So, let me guess. Your... best friend lives here and is away at the moment.”

“No, it’s mine.” I rolled my eyes.

“Your... brother is away, and this is his place.” Then she gasped, her eyes widening as she took me in. “You’re married!”

“Oh, hell no!”

“You have a Mate?”

“Will you stop already?” I sighed, shaking my head. She was relentless when she wanted to be, like a dog with a bone... not that she was a dog, but still. I pulled into my usual parking spot and cut the engine, propping my arm on the back of the seat as I turned to face her. “I’m not married, I don’t have a Mate, and I don’t lie. This is my place.”

She nodded, her beautiful eyes looking anywhere but at me.

“Is there something you want to tell me?” I gently placed a finger under her chin and turned her to face me.

“I don’t usually do this.”

“What?” My heart sank. “Are you a virgin?”

“You already asked me that!” She let out a deep breath. “Why do you keep asking me that?”

“Because I don’t do virgins.”

Her head snapped up. “Why?”

I shrugged. “Too much trouble.” I didn’t say it, but they were also too clingy. After all, you never forget your first time.

“Well, I’m not. But if you don’t want to ‘do’ me, then take me back to my car.” She folded her arms across her chest defiantly, looking out the window.

Without thinking, I took her hand and laid it on my crotch so she could see just how much I wanted her. “Does this feel like I don’t want to be with you?”

She slowly pulled her hand away. “No, I guess not.”

“Wait here.” I stepped out, adjusted myself behind the car, and then opened her door and offered her my hand. As she took it and looked into my eyes, I gasped. Not only at her beauty and innocence, but the electricity that shot through my body, knowing I would never forget this moment for as long as I lived.
