Irene walked down the stairs with Reyna behind her, ignoring her gaze of admiration. She herself was stunned to see how ethereal she looked in the dress she was wearing. It was as if someone had performed some magic on her and she had suddenly become a Queen.
Irene smiled at the servants, who stopped in surprise, beguiled by her beauty. A sense of pride and achievement filled her heart and Irene could not stop the seed of arrogance from sprouting in her heart. When Irene entered the living room, Seymour and Damen were deep in conversation and something her cousin made her father laugh out loud.
"May I know what happened, Father? Let me have a laugh too." Irene chirped and the two men's gazes moved towards her immediately, only for them to widen.
