Chapter 14: None Of Your Business

The emperor announced this with a smile on his lips and folded his arms in excitement.

Ayana turned to Yennefer, and their gazes met at the same time.

A smirk crept up on Ayana's face and confused as to why she suddenly smirked, Yennefer arched her brow at her.

"Why are you smirking?" She asked, and Ayana chuckled softly.

"None of your business." She replied, and Yennefer slightly nodded her head at her.

"I see." She cackled and gripped the hilt of her sword.

"Feels quite heavy." She said to herself and swung it, ready to battle with Ayana, and Ayana, who saw the clumsiness behind the way she held the sword, raised her brow at her.

"Are you kidding me?" She asked, but knowing that that was not the time to bother, she rushed towards Yennefer and their swords clashed.

However, for some unknown reason, Yennefer felt this tremble in her hands, almost as if the swords had nearly split her palm in two.

She quickly drew back and lifted her head to look at Ayana.

'Could it be as a result of the impact of the swords?' She questioned herself and quickly shook her head.

It's impossible! It definitely couldn't be, because if it was, then why didn't Ayana feel the tremble as well?

I mean, she could tell that Ayana was in no way stronger than her, both physically and in terms of magic, despite her clumsiness, so... It's honestly not possible, unless... Ayana was using magic.

"Magic?" She repeated this and raised her head to look at Ayana.

That means she's a sorceress...

But what sort of magic was she using, to the point that no one noticed, not even her until now?

She bit her lower lip in thought, and as though having figured it out, her eyes lit up.

From the past memory of the Yennfer who used to own the body, such magic was referred to as being invisible to the eyes of non-magic practitioners, sometimes even to those who practice magic.

The problem here is that this magic was practiced by 5th-grade sorcerers, so how did she do it?

Unless….

She thought and quickly shook her head.

'Impossible! She can't possibly be a 5th-grade sorceress at her age!'

It's not that there aren't 5th-grade sorcerers at that age; in fact, she herself is a 4th-grade sorceress, but those kinds of abilities were uncommon.

In "Forshiai", her country, popularly known as the country of Fae, those kinds of talents were referred to as "The Specials."

It just wasn't easy to find a young sorceress at such a level. Magic was not at all simple. It requires more than just talent.

Her lashes flickered, and Ayana, who seemed to realize that she had figured out something, arched her brow at her.

"What are you dilly-dallying about?" She questioned, and Yennefer glared at her.

Why do people love to cheat just because they have the power to do so?

I mean, if she was just some ordinary fellow, she would have lost without even knowing that her opponent hadn't played fair.

These kinds of things honestly annoy her a lot.

It reminds her of her past life.

The rich get away with anything, but as someone who has nothing, she always ends up in trouble.

Or more like, she does have something but just has no access to it.

An aggravated breath fled her nose and, with sudden anger that rose within her, her face darkened and she rushed towards Ayana, the intent to hurt her glinting deeply in her eyes.

"You buffoon!"

She muttered and struck her sword towards Ayana, who dodged it and clashed with the sword, using her own.

Yennefer's anger rose even more, and angrily, she stormed towards Ayana to hurt her, but Ayana, who instantly felt her harmful intent towards her, had her face darken.

"Idiot!"

She cursed in a low voice, and with a sharp thread, invisible to the eyes of non-magic practitioners, curling up around her palms, she dashed towards Yennefer, and with a raise of the sword to confuse the audience, she sent the threads towards Yennefer's body.

Yennefer's eyes narrowed vehemently as she could obviously see it, but because she was yet to get used to all this, even though she had all the memories, she ended up having the threads cut parts of her skin.

A painful hiss exited her nose and she quickly looked at her body.

Her eyes fluttered rapidly on seeing that parts of her arm, leg, and neck had been cut, causing the blood oozing out to taint her white clothing.

She quickly raised her head to look at Ayana, and her hot temper flared up, making her realize that she still had that horrible temper of hers, both in this world and the one she came from.

"You!" She scowled at Ayana, and before she could rush forward to do something very terrible to her, the emperor, who knew better, quickly stood up from his seat and called quit, immediately stopping the battle.

He knew that if he let the fight continue, then more blood would spill and he would lose his tool to victory against the house of dragons and also lose a very exotic dancer that he admired quite a lot.

"The battle is over. Yennefer, I have to say that you seem quite weak now, compared to before. Perhaps those few weeks in the dungeon, did this?"

He asked, and with a deadly look on her face, Yennefer glared at him and threw the sword away.

She gripped her arm, which seemed to be bleeding the most, and stormed away toward her chamber.

Ayana gazed at her as she walked away, and a slow smirk emerged on her face.

"Luthiel, follow me." The emperor abruptly stood up from his chair and ordered.

Luthiel followed obediently behind him, and once he arrived at his luxurious chamber, his royal guards pushed the door open for him.

He took his seat on his golden chair and raised his head to look at Luthiel, who had no tinge of utterance on his face.

"Did you see that?" He asked and already knew what he was talking about, Luthiel nodded his head at him.

"Well, I am sure you must already know why I called you here. I need you to train her to be at your level or even better. I don't want anything to destroy my chance of carrying victory against those creatures. Do you understand?"

He asked, and Luthiel nodded his head at him.

"Yes, your majesty." He replied, and the emperor dismissed him.

He walked out of the chamber and, with an unknown glint flickering in his emerald green eyes, he walked away towards none other than Yennfer's chamber.
