Chapter 17: Anderson

So sorry sometimes I'm to lazy to write... Can you send me some of powerstone to make this lazy person move a bit??

******

In a dimly lit room, the tension in the air was palpable. Anderson, a middle-aged man with a stern face and sharp eyes, sat in his chair, staring at the disarray of papers on his desk. The people around him waited anxiously for what he would say.

"Mr. Anderson, these troublemakers and the mastermind behind them are a serious threat to our operations. They're not just causing issues domestically but also meddling with our international networks," one of his subordinates said seriously.

Hearing this, Anderson's jaw tightened. "Aren't they too young to be such a menace? Do you know who's behind all this? I'm sure he's not acting alone." Anderson threw the papers in his hand into the corner of the room angrily. He stood up, turning his back to his subordinates, his back tense with anger. "Make sure you investigate everything about their background."

His subordinate nodded quickly. "Mr. Anderson, this man is now involved with your daughter."

Anderson immediately turned around, his gaze sharp, muttering mockingly, "Adrian?"

His subordinate shook his head. "Not that coward, sir, but Evan! Evan Sanders."

Anderson's eyebrows furrowed even more. "That name sounds unfamiliar."

"Because his real name is—" his subordinate hesitated for a moment before continuing, "Evan Sanders is an alias. His real name is___."

Anderson was shocked, his eyes narrowing as he tried to process the new information. "So, this is all part of his plan? Using his people to get close to my daughter and sabotage our business from within?"

His subordinate nodded. "It seems that way, sir. Evan has gathered a lot of information about our operations and has formed a relationship with your daughter to gain deeper access."

Anderson took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. "Then we have to act quickly. Watch his every move and make sure he doesn't succeed. And my daughter, make sure she doesn't fall deeper into this trap. I will talk to her immediately."

Still seated in his chair, Anderson's mind raced with various plans. He picked up his phone and called Adrian, his daughter's former fiancé, who had always been considered an ally.

After a few rings, a voice on the other end answered quickly. However, it wasn't Adrian's voice.

"Hello, this is Adrian's family. Who is speaking?" A woman's voice sounded anxious.

Anderson frowned. "This is Anderson. I want to speak to Adrian."

"Mr. Anderson," the woman's voice trembled. "Adrian can't answer the phone right now. He's... he's in a bad state."

Anderson felt his chest tighten even more. "What do you mean? What happened to Adrian?"

"He was threatened by Evan Sanders' men," the woman replied, her voice shaking. "They intimidated, vandalized, hurt, and made threats. Adrian... he's injured and currently in the hospital."

Hearing this, Anderson's anger peaked. His hands clenched tightly until his knuckles turned white. "Evan Sanders," he muttered with a voice full of hatred.

SMASH!

Unable to contain his rage, Anderson struck the glass table in front of him hard. The table shattered, and shards of glass lodged in his hand, causing blood to flow profusely.

The woman on the other end of the phone was startled by the sound of breaking glass. "Mr. Anderson, are you okay?"

Anderson ignored the pain in his hand and responded coldly, "I will take care of this. Make sure Adrian gets the best care. I will resolve this issue as soon as possible."

*****

"Welcome home, darling. Are you tired? I've made dinner," he greeted with a warm smile. "Oh, you look so frazzled, sweetheart. You're not upset because I left you earlier, are you? I didn't want to leave you, but something urgent came up at the office."

Honestly, I felt irritated and upset but also relieved. All my overthinking turned out to be pointless. He stood before me, removing his apron and welcoming me with a fully set dinner table. It felt like the energy I spent overthinking all day was wasted, and I almost wanted to cry.

Pouting, I sat at the dining table. My eyes were drawn to the tempting dishes. Instantly, my anxiety melted away. "Would you like me to fill your plate?" he asked, draping himself over me from behind. I tilted my head slightly, and he kissed my cheek.

"I smell like sweat," I said, feeling embarrassed from running around and getting sticky. But he took a deep breath and whispered in my ear, "I love your scent."

I smiled, feeling warm inside. "You always know how to make me feel better," I replied, looking into his eyes with love.

He smiled and filled my plate with the food he had prepared. "I want you to know how much you mean to me. All of this, just to see you smile."

I felt tears well up in my eyes. "Thank you, darling. You always know how to make my days better."

He sat next to me, taking my hand and kissing it gently. "I love you, no matter what. We'll always get through this together."

Dinner was filled with warmth and love. We talked about our day, joked, and enjoyed the moment together. All my worries and anxieties slowly disappeared, replaced by a sense of comfort and peace in his presence.

After dinner, he hugged me tightly. "Let's spend the rest of the night watching your favorite movie. I want to pamper you after such a tough day."

With a wide smile, I nodded. "That sounds perfect."

After changing into comfortable pajamas, we cuddled under the blanket, snuggling on the sofa bed while watching my favorite genre on TV. His hand stroked my cheek while the other supported his head. Occasionally, I would lie back and pull his face down for a kiss, and he would smile broadly with blushing cheeks before I refocused on the film.

"Do you want to tell me something?" he whispered while playing with my hair.

"What?" I asked, looking into his eyes.

"Someone tried to cause trouble at the office because I was a bit late for work this morning," he replied softly.

I was surprised to hear that. "How did that happen? What went wrong?"

He took a deep breath before continuing. "They took advantage of my absence to stir up trouble. They know I'm usually always on time and used the moment I wasn't there to create chaos."

I was glad he was sharing this with me. I lay back, holding his jaw, looking into his dark eyes. "I'm scared something bad might happen to you," I said honestly.

He blushed, then rested his head on my chest. "I'm also scared you won't like my story and one day you'll worry too much about me and get tired, then leave my side."

Stroking his thick, soft hair, I spoke quietly, almost like a murmur, "I can't even imagine if I hadn't met you that night. Maybe my life would have fallen apart. But I'm happy it was you, so leaving or parting from you would be the biggest mistake I'd ever make. I won't do that."

I could feel his heartbeat matching mine as our chests met. "For the first time, I've fallen in love and don't want to leave this feeling," he whispered.

I couldn't respond because his lips found mine, making me tense. He began to suck, making my blouse wet. My gentle strokes in his hair turned into a firm grip. "Mmm— Evan, I love you, mmm—"

His head lifted, seeking my lips, which were wet.

He smiled in the midst of our kiss, and I could feel the warmth radiating from his heart. We both lost ourselves in the moment, filled with deep feelings and love.

After a while, he paused, looking at me with deep affection. "You know, I feel so lucky to have you by my side. Every day with you is the greatest gift I've ever received."

I smiled and kissed his forehead. "I feel the same. You're everything to me."

That night, we enjoyed each other's company with warmth and love. There were no more worries or fears troubling my mind. Only love and trust that made everything feel perfect. "Evan, slowly—"

"Sorry, darling, I can't wait."
