Giyu made a promise to Tanjiro in his past life before he died.
He now lives in Tokyo as a college student with no memory of that promise.
Tanjiro, on the other hand, spends his days in a small mountain village away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.

They, for unknown reasons, begin to wake up in each other's bodies for weeks at a time. Soon they begin to leave notes about who they are, but as they discover more about each other and their lives, they find some disturbing hints that their distance is more than physical and that perhaps this is not the first time they have met.
