"AAHHHhhhhhh..." Was the sound of a flying airplane.
Did they really just ignore us? If I was correct, then the person Sam was holding on to was his master. As the odd duo flew far into the distance, I heard a loud boom, akin to an earthquake.
Turning my attention back to the slug, it turned out that it was trapped in a bunch of hardened dirt and debris. Was this Sam's master's doing? I couldn't think of another reason, but I'll take the help.
'Appraise.'

A whole chunk of the slug's health was shaved off just like that. Sam's master was definitely some overpowered guy.
Either way, thanks to the timely assistance, the slug was stuck in the hardened dirt, unable to break free. This was the perfect opportunity to slay the monster. As long as we avoided the tentacles, we would be able to trim its health to zero. Although its body could repair itself, healing and repairing were different things. Just because its body could repair didn't mean it didn't take damage.
After storing the gold coins in the storage ring, I pulled out my Molten Spear of Mutilation from the inventory and proceeded to duel wield the two spears. One was Common while the other was Mythical, funny isn't it? There didn't seem to be any other spears in the storage ring, so I'll have to make do with what I had.
Since the Mythical rarity spear was superior to the Molten Spear of Mutilation, I held it in my right hand while keeping the Molten Spear in my left. I formed an immediate battle plan: attack with my right and parry the tentacles with my left.
"Rachel, continue attacking with magic from a far range while me and the other guy cut off its tentacles." I ordered the two. I may not have any leadership qualities, but every team needed someone to give the initiation... At least that was what I learned from my years of playing multiplayer games.
"I don't have any mana left."
As I charged towards the slug, I took a mana potion out of my inventory and threw it at Rachel. I could just say it was in the storage ring if she asked me.
She perked her eyebrows. "What's this?"
"It will restore your mana, just drink it." I said.
She popped off the cork and drank it all, not hesitating in the slightest.
The slug had six tentacles in total and they were all wailing about in the air, trying to defend its body.
'This should be possible.'
I sweeped with both spears at once, creating two identical air blades all aimed at a single tentacle.
Unlike the last time when I sent one sweep after the next, I was using two sweeps at once in hopes of severing one of its tentacles. Since the former had a large enough time gap between each sweep allowing the slug to repair itself, I figured I should just go all out on a single attack.
As expected, it severed the whole tentacle off the body of the slug, not allowing it time to reattach it.
Bracing myself, I had expected a tentacle to come at me in retaliation, but to my surprise, there was no reaction from the slug, or rather there was, but it wasn't aimed at me.
"Hey kid, focus on attacking, I'll keep this fella on me." Said the guy while running around avoiding the tentacles to the best of his abilities. There were also Fire Balls and other spells fired at the slug directly.
'Did he have some sort of skill or technique that pulled a monster's aggro?' I thought, while watching him outrun the belt—I mean tentacles aimed at his butt.
I returned my attention to the moving tentacles and did just as the guy said; I continued cutting off each and every one of its tentacles.
As the battle neared the finish, the slug was now in the most literal sense, naked. It had no more tentacles to fend off certain pointy objects while its body was trapped in the hardened dirt.
"I'm out again." Rachel shouted.
Instead of throwing her another mana potion, which was a waste of points, I threw her the Mythical grade spear.
"Eh, but I don't know how to use a spear."
"Just stab it." I said with good intentions.
"You sure this'll kill it? My sword just sinks in and after a while, the cut disappears completely." The guy said.
"Don't worry, even though it can't be bruised or cut, I can guarantee it hurts." I said while whacking it on the head with the edge of the spear blade.
It was fun, just like when I played one of those whack-a-mole arcade games.
After a good while, I noticed a slight blushing red color form on the area I whacked it. Was it the burning function of the Molten Spear? So it was only effective when I attacked it multiple times... It was pretty weak.
Was there maybe a way I could upgrade the spear? Now that I think of it, I do recall there being an evolution requirement on it, just like monsters.
'Appraise.' I thought, while continuing the abuse.

Molten Spear of Mutilation(Common):
The forlorn spear that survived its retribution of flames.
When equipped: Strength—30, Agility+10
1. Molten: Without a high affinity to fire, wielder can be burned. Attacks can create burn.
2. SEALED
3. Evolution Requirements: Devour 0/5 weapons(Rare)

'Devour? Just like this slug? So I had to feed it weapons, huh. I guess I'll have to start buying weapons from the weapon shop; but that will be after I got rid of the curse.'

While I was bored, I decided to keep its Life Force in check so I could deal the last blow and gain some more Merit Points. While I wished there were weaker creatures that could be farmed for points, life was just unfair. Although the fish were creatures too, for some reason, I did not get any points for killing them. Was it because the physique and magic realm disparity was too great? After all, they were just ordinary fish that did not even count as mobs.

Focus.
Instead of beating it to its death like the three of us were doing, I cast a simple Fire Ball to finish it off.
Startled by my sudden usage of magic at such a close range, Rachel and the guy flinched and rolled backwards.
Although I wanted to tell them it was alright, I was focused on something else.
