Chapter 259: Secrets Out in the Open

Henry hoped that meant the commander would finally confess his thoughts to him. He wanted to be seen as trustworthy. 

He knew he had not taken news like that well in the past but he was determined to be someone the commander could talk to about his innermost thoughts. It seemed that the man had no one else for that. 

The men left a generous pile of coins on the table as they left and the waitress who had been waiting around quickly went to clean their table and assure herself that no one else would take the coins. After all, Idona was still laden with money-hungry mercenaries. 

When the men were outside, the sun was going down towards the horizon but it still had a way to go. It was still warm outside and barely in the earliest reaches of the evening. 

The commander took a deep breath as he went outside.
