Chapter 377: Running Out of Patience

Henry waited. 

And waited, and waited, and kept waiting. 

When there was no reply to his letter for days, he started genuinely worrying that Princess Marie was going to do something as extreme as run away from the castle. 

He hadn't been sleeping because of worry for the princess. He was expecting perhaps a short reply but a lack of reply entirely was more alarming.

Instead of going back to the commander's fortress as he was supposed to after they dealt with the monsters, he went right to the palace. It added another hour to his trip and pushed his exhaustion even further. 

He wasn't someone who prayed but he still silently prayed, begging the universe to make sure it didn't take long so he could eventually rest. They were within two weeks before the king told him he would send him to Chemois. He should have been focusing on that, but instead, he was focused on the princess.
