The princess's proximity made him nervous as much as her words did. 

'I love the way you look' she had said. The words echoed in his mind as he looked down at her in shock.

He could feel the eyes of the king burning into the side of his head. All he wanted to do was make a good impression but she made it unbelievably hard.

Even though he didn't want to, he pulled her hand from his cheek and put it back on the trapezius muscle between his shoulder and neck.

No one had said something so kind about his looks. Normally he was teased without the understanding that when people teased him it was because of his good looks and not otherwise.

In the knighthood he used to be called skinny then he was called large. He wanted people to stop paying attention to how he looked all together.

"Princess…" he trailed off, unable to gather his thoughts.
