Chapter 287: A Spot To Hide

The entire day had been nothing but a reality check for Henry. 

He realized that, just like his father, no matter hard he worked, it was just short of enough. The entire Royal Family knew this. He was a convenient tool, only remaining loyal because there was always something hanging just in front of his nose. 

He began to wonder if he would ever really get what he wanted or if there would always be another hook - another hurdle to jump over. 

Just like the mule with a carrot barely hanging out of reach, he still continued walking forward. The carrot in front of him kept getting closer and further away - not dependent on how fast or slow he went. 

And despite the feeling that it was all too good to be true, the princess appeared again and his resolve to search for another goal was starting to come unravelled. It was always her that could do it. Always her.
