"How embarrassing." Elliot raised his brows briefly, tapping his fingertips on the surface of the table. He leaned back slowly, scanning the faces present in the conference room. "I should've known you wouldn't come in here yourself if you hadn't done any preparations. I wonder how many more people you got in here?"
Hera chuckled with her lips closed, leaning back comfortably. "You've been in that position for years now, Elliot Dunkel. I'm sure you have a broad idea of why the Reapers remained untouchable."
"It's always been a thought, like a splint in my throat I couldn't get rid of." Elliot maintained his amicable smile. "However, the Reapers aren't the ones untouchable. It was you."
"Well, I take that as a compliment, sir."
"If you aren't here for Wolf, I wonder what made you come in here yourself?"
