Chapter 3: BAB 3
"Huh? You want me to reincarnate again? I thought you would give me a gift and let myself rest."
I was shocked by the Goddess's statement. My eyes widened and my mouth opened.
"No, no, no! You misunderstood. It's not what you think."
The Goddess removed her hand to form a cross while shaking her head to the right and left.
"What does that mean?"
"I will reincarnate you into another world, but I'm not giving you any more missions. To say reincarnated is not correct. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that your soul will be transferred into someone else's body. You are free to do anything in that world. Whether you want to be a hero or a villain, you're free to do anything. I can only gift you this as a token of my gratitude to you."
"So, I'm given life once again to enjoy life without having to perform any missions and can do whatever I want, is that it?"
"Yes."
"In that case, what kind of world is it that I can do anything?"
"There was actually a world that was almost destroyed, more like half and I managed to save that world. However, the population of creatures there had been more than half wiped out. So I transferred the residents I saved from various worlds or characters from anime or comics whose worlds were destroyed to that world."
"So, there are all kinds of people in that world like anime characters?"
"That's right. You'd be surprised at the absurd variety of things in it. Also, the characters that live there have backgrounds that will be different from the original."
"Well, that's natural. Because there's a lot going on. By the way, what kind of world is it? Is it hard for me to imagine?"
"Ah!!! It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you!"
The goddess smiled with a sweet expression and placed her index finger in front of her mouth as a sign that she would not tell me.
"Hah!!! You're still annoying."
"Oh right!! Have you decided what you want to be or do in that world? To be a Riajuu, otaku, spectator, troublemaker, villain, protagonist, or something else."
The goddess looked at me curiously.
"I don't know! I'm still not sure. After all, I have to know that world first before deciding to be or do something."
"The way you speak is always very calm. it makes someone who listens relax. you know that makes you a lot of people's favorite even though you use a different body?"
"Yeah. I know that."
"I've always wondered, how do you get so many women interested in you?"
"There's no particular reason. I don't do anything anyway."
"Heh!! That's impossible. You're always doing something that attracts women and you're also sometimes insensitive. Also the aura of charm that you exude is different from others."
The goddess said in an annoying tone. I clucked my tongue. we both stared at each other for a long time. staring into the eyes trying to figure it out. The goddess smiled and broke the silence first.
"okay, let's get back to the main topic."
The goddess clapped her hands. I'm used to her being like this. When we first met. I thought that she was a good and holy Goddess, calm and beautiful with a beauty that was hard to describe so I spoke in a formal tone. However, after a few meetings I came to know her true nature. I ended up speaking to her informally. Even though I had gotten used to it, sometimes there were things that irritated me with her behavior.
"Since you might be curious and wondering about that world, I will give you some important information that might help you."
The goddess spoke and looked at me, seeing if I was listening.
"As before you will transfer your soul into someone's body. But that body will be that of an anime character."
After hearing the Goddess say that I froze.
"Wait! An anime character's body?"
"What's wrong shouldn't you be happy?"
"That depends. Whose body am I going to get anyway?"
"You'll find out. Besides, that body will match your existing skills. Also your family background I will make different from the original."
"Then will it be like before?"
I looked into the Goddess's eyes. The goddess wore a look of confusion.
"You mean my family?"
"Ah!! Yes! Your background will still be as before with some additions."
It seemed like the goddess understood. I nodded my head.
"Also the anime characters in that world will have different backgrounds as well."
The goddess continued to explain in a serious tone. It seemed like there would be some surprises coming out of her mouth. I listened to every word that came out of her mouth.
"As for your abilities in the previous world, they will be transferred into your body in that world. But not everything will be transferred."
"Is it because there are variables that interfere?"
"Yes. As I said before, that world came from a combination of various things from different worlds. There's a good chance that there will be demons, devils, witches, or something else that doesn't make sense in that world."
"So, you want me to take care of it myself?"
"Right, I'll leave that world to you. Even so, if there is time, I will talk and organize that world."
"Alright."
I nodded my head and I remembered something.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"What are you asking?"
"Will my power be transferred in a way as a gift?"
The goddess tilted her head and looked at me with confusion.
"I mean will I have a 'system' like in the fanfic?"
"No. Did you expect something like that?" The goddess asked.
"Of course not. I'm just asking."
"Your power and skills will be delivered one by one. Your body in that world will not be able to withstand it. Do you want to do a mission created by the system and if you fail there will be punishment?"
"Of course I don't want that. That's why I'm asking."
"Besides, if you were to perform a mission created by the system, wouldn't that be inconsistent with what I said?"
"That's right. Well, let's end this conversation. I'm ready to be transferred."
"Good, since you are ready. I will transfer you."
Slowly my surroundings turned into a very bright light. I slowly closed my eyes. The Goddess then waved and said.
"May you be comfortable in your new world."
In an instant the light filled my body and I felt my body lighten one by one until I was unconscious.
